World Cup Fantasy best budget players for Matchday 3

Last modified date

The World Cup is currently underway, and the new round is just around the corner. In fact, the next round begins tomorrow so for that reason, we look at the World Cup Fantasy best budget players for Matchday 3.

Cheap value assets are hard to come by in any fantasy game. Finding budget players can help enable the pricier options within our teams and so looking at the World Cup Fantasy best budget players for Matchday 3 could be very beneficial to managers.

Andries Noppert

Netherlands have shown an improving defence. They face the worst team in the tournament in Matchday 3 and that team is Qatar. The hosts have been woeful going forward and it took a set piece goal to provide them with their first goal of the tournament against Senegal.

Qatar are out of the World Cup and there is no way to progress so there could be a huge lack of motivation. Andries Noppert is now the Netherlands first team goalkeeper. Not only this, but Noppert will cost managers just £4.5m.

Sardar Azmoun

Iran have showed fight during the World Cup. They have also shown a strong ability to score goals after scoring two against England and Wales. Sardar Azmoun (£4.5m) did pick up an injury against Wales so it could be worthwhile monitoring that.

Azmoun has a fantastic price-tag but also showed huge threat in Matchday 2. The striker should have scored after having two huge chances. Although he didn’t, Azmoun looked like a massive threat, and at his price, could be fantastic value for money.

Richie Laryea

Canada impressed in their Matchday 1 fixture against Belgium. In fact, they probably should have won the game. They also play with a wingback system that allows their wingbacks to dash forward and get themselves into advanced positions.

One of the players to stand out in Matchday 1 was Richie Laryea (£3.5m). Laryea looked dangerous against Belgium and spent more time in his opponent’s half than his own. His great performance was also reflected in the fact he created four key passes.

David Raum

Germany will be looking to correct their World Cup campaign after losing to Japan in Matchday 1. Although they lost, Germany did have a standout performer. That player was David Raum (£4.5m). Raum was excellent in the first half and could have hit a huge return in World Cup Fantasy.

Raum earned the penalty which gave Germany their only goal in Matchday 1. Not only that, Raum also supplied an impressive three key passes. The Germans play a very poor Costa Rica who struggled to get near the Spain box in Matchday 1. Raum could have bags of potential in Matchday 3 and even more so if he is playing in his wing back role.

Mohammed Kudus

In the build-up to the World Cup, there were some fans who believed Ghana could struggle for goals. After Matchday 1 fans may need to rethink that moving forward as Ghana bagged two goals against the well experienced Portugal.

One of the standout attackers for Ghana was Mohammad Kudus (£6m). This season Kudus has shown huge ability on Europe’s biggest stage, the Champions League. Although Kudus was not given the assist for the goal, it was his pace and pass that created their first goal.
