Who passed the eye test in Gameweek 32?

Last modified date

We take a look at who passed the eye test Gameweek 32. With a focus on the matches played so far, we highlight some of the standout performances of the current round, whether they returned in Fantasy Premier League or not.

Underlying stats will always be very useful for FPL managers in their chase for success. However, looking at who passed the eye test in Gameweek 32 could be a huge factor when looking at potential FPL assets to bring into our fantasy teams moving forward.

Andreas Pereira

Fulham came into Gameweek 32 looking to extend their run to two back-to-back wins against a relegation battling Leeds. Although it was a shaky start from the hosts they turned the screw in the second half and claimed a 2-1 victory.

One player was absolutely instrumental to their win. Andreas Pereira (£4.4m) put in a fantastic overall performance. The midfielder pulled the strings throughout the game, won most of his duels and became a huge goal threat. Pereira managed three shots on target, hit the wood work but eventually scored. He picked up a huge 10 points for his efforts this week and with a double Gameweek approaching in 34, some managers could turn to him as a differential.

Bryan Mbeumo

Brentford were hoping to turn their form around this week after failing to win any of their last five matches. Aston Villa lay ahead for Brentford who are in great form but the game ended in a 1-1 deadlock. Although that was the case there was one standout performer.

Teammate Ivan Toney (£7.7m) may have scored the goal but Bryan Mbeumo (£5.8m) had one of his best games of the season. The midfielder was everywhere and caused a major threat to the Aston Villa backline. Mbeumo turned key creator this week creating four passes leading to shots and two big chances in the game. Not just this but he completed most of his duels and long balls. Mbeumo was rewarded for his display with an assist and seven points in FPL, but it could and should have been much more.

Sam Johnstone

Crystal Palace extended their unbeaten run this week. They held relegation battling Everton to a 0-0 stalemate. The home side struggled to breakdown the Toffees for large parts of the games and the visitors defended well. However, the star performance came from the man between the sticks for Crystal Palace.

Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone (£4.4m) has not failed to return more than three points since he has replaced Vincente Guaita (£4.4m). He was a massive presence at the back for Crystal Palace, claiming five big saves, two successful run outs, three punches and one save from inside the box. Johnstone was unpassable and he bagged a huge 10-points for his efforts. With great fixtures ahead, some within the community could be looking to him for the remainder of the season in their fantasy teams.

Morgan Gibbs-White

In one of the best matches of the week we saw the struggling Nottingham Forest take on Liverpool at Anfield. It was a game full of goals as the home side hit three goals to take away all three points. That may have been the case but the best showing came from the visitors.

Morgan Gibbs-White (£5.5m) put on one of his best displays this campaign. The midfielder produced two passes leading to shots on goal and one big chance. His creativity led to an assist. Although creative Gibbs-White was also a huge goal threat with three shots on target, one of them leading to a goal. He accumulated a cool 12 points after his performance.
