Who passed the eye test in Gameweek 30?
We take a look at who passed the eye test Gameweek 30. With a focus on the matches played so far, we highlight some of the standout performances of the current round, whether they returned in Fantasy Premier League or not.
Underlying stats will always be very useful for FPL managers in their chase for success. However, looking at who passed the eye test in Gameweek 30 could be a huge factor when looking at potential FPL assets to bring into our fantasy teams moving forward.
Bruno Fernandes
Manchester United looked to extend their good form and that they did. The Reds took away a comfortable win against relegation battling Everton. There were plenty of great performances in their 2-0 win but one of the best came from Bruno Fernandes (£9.6m).
The midfielder was playing a much deeper role than usual but was fantastic on and off the ball. Bruno was masterful in creating chances and controlled the midfielder like it was his own. To highlight his excellent distribution Bruno racked up six key passes and two big chances. Unfortunately his teammates let him down and he failed to return any significant points. With great fixtures and double Gameweeks ahead he could be a tough sell.
Solly March
Brighton faced an interesting test this week against the inconsistent Tottenham. Although they dominated the game Brighton fell short and lost the match 2-1. That may have been the case but one player stood above the rest, Solly March (£5.2m).
March was as creative as ever, slipping some fantastic balls through the lines and crossing at every opportunity. In fact March was so creative he mustered up six key passes and created two big chances. The midfielder was rewarded for his performance picking up seven points in FPL. With Chelsea next and a blank Gameweek after that, many could be tricked into selling but after that he has a very appealing double Gameweek.
Erling Haaland
Manchester City dismantled Southampton this week. It was a slow start to the game for the victors. However, that slow start quickly turned and their main creators started to feed their deadly striker. There were several great performances but Erling Haland (£12.1m) was right at the top of the pile.
The Norwegian striker was brilliant. The piercing runs he made caused major problems for the Southampton defence. His strength and seismic leaps led to two fantastic goals including one spectacular bicycle kick. Haaland finished the match on double digits, once again reflecting his explosiveness. Although he has a blank Gameweek coming up he also has double Gameweeks approaching so finding a way to bring him in can be seen as essential.
Philip Billing
Bournemouth have been poor for large parts of the season with their key players failing to make significant impacts. This week was different. Not only did they keep a very rare clean sheet but they also came away with all three points against Leicester.
One of the biggest performances of the entire Gameweek came from Philip Billing (£5.2m). The midfielder was absolutely everywhere and a huge thorn in the side of his opponents backline. From creativity to goal threat Billing had it all. He managed two shots on target, two key passes, hit the post but eventually scored. Billing picked up a huge 11 points this week in FPL. With good fixtures ahead, he could be on plenty of managers watchlist.
