Who passed the eye test in Gameweek 25?
We take a look at who passed the eye test Gameweek 25. With a focus on the live matches played so far, we highlight some of the standout performances of the current round, whether they returned in Fantasy Premier League or not.
Underlying stats will always be very useful for FPL managers in their chase for success. However, looking at who passed the eye test in Gameweek 25 could be a huge factor when looking at potential FPL assets to bring into our fantasy teams moving forward.
Pablo Sarabia
Wolves put in a much more convincing performance in Gameweek 25. They faced a tough and ready Fulham. Although they took the lead, Wolves conceded and took just one point from the game. Two players stood out for them this week.
The standout player was new signing Pablo Sarabia (£5.5m). The Portuguese winger looked like the most promising attacker on the pitch. Creating clear-cut chances for his side Sarabia also scored a fantastic half-volley. He picked up 10 points for his overall performance and could be one to watch in FPL moving forward.
Raul Jimenez
The Wolves frontline looked a lot sharper than it usually does this week. Pablo Sarabia put on a show but what was noticeable was his chemistry with Raul Jimenez (£6.7m). The striker was in-sync with their new signing and that was apparent through the game.
Raul Jimenez put in a great shift against Fulham this week. He was strong, felt his presence known in the opposition’s box, got into some fantastic positions and even selflessly cushioned the ball down to Sarabia to pick up an assist. Jimenez did have a brilliant chance to score but failed to convert with his head. However his movement and new partnership with Sarabia could be something to keep and eye on for FPL managers.
Phil Foden
Manchester City picked up three points this week after slipping up against Nottingham Forest in Gameweek 24. The league chasers scored four goals to dismantle Bournemouth in a very solid overall performance.
The standout player in the match was Phil Foden (£8m). After failing to return since Gameweek 16, the midfielder was back with a vengeance. He was excellent throughout the entire match. Turning key creator without teammate Kevin De Bruyne, the English international racked up an amazing seven key passes leading to shots. Foden was rewarded for his performance, claiming an assist, a goal and three bonus to total 13 points in FPL.
Ruben Dias
Manchester City looked dead-set for the clean sheet against promoted team Bournemouth this week. However that wasn’t to be and their defensive assets failed to collect any significant FPL returns. Although that was the case, there was one standout performance within the backline.
Ruben Dias (£5.9m) has been in and out of the starting line-up for most of the season. However, his Gameweek 25 performance could be the start of consistent gametime. Dias looked solid for the majority of the game. He completed most of his tackles, made some huge clearances and won most of his duels.
