Dwight McNeil

Everton went into their Gameweek 25 match against Aston Villa looking to extend their win run to two matches in a row. That wasn’t meant to be as the away side took a comfortable 2-0 victory, claiming all three points.

Dwight McNeil (£5.1m) became a popular target within the community ahead of the round due to his double Gameweek. Amongst all players in the league this week he ranked first for crosses (13), joint first for successful crosses (four) and joint second for chances created (four).

Although McNeil put up some fantastic distribution stats, he failed to convert them into goal contributions. This led the midfielder to tallying just two points this week. With no double Gameweeks and rough fixtures ahead, it may be already time to sell the Everton man.

Phil Foden

Manchester City made a big statement against Bournemouth this week. They dismantled the newly promoted team 4-1 in their match. Dominating some of the distribution stats in Gameweek 26 was Phil Foden (£8m).

Amongst all players in this league this week Foden ranked first for successful passes in the final third (28), first for chances created (seven) and joint first for big chances created (one). The midfielder did better than convert those stats with an assist and a goal.

Foden’s last return prior to this game was in Gameweek 16. He has been victim to major rotation in that same period. For that reason, even when taking his performance into account, he is still a player to avoid in FPL.

Ollie Watkins

Aston Villa lost their last three matches prior to Gameweek 25 so they needed a result and they got. It was a convincing win by Aston Villa as they netted twice to sink the Toffees. Amongst the win, one player put up some brilliant goal threat stats.

Amongst all players in the league this week Ollie Watkins (£7.7m) ranked joint second for attempts on goal (four), joint second for attempts in the box (three) and joint first for big chances total (three). Watkins converted his stats into FPL points as he struck six points due to his goal.

The Aston Villa striker has managed FPL returns in his last five back-to-back matches which has started to catch the eye of interested fantasy managers. Watkins plays in blank Gameweek 28 and has a double Gameweek in 29 so could become one of the most appealing assets in the game soon.

Jarrod Bowen

West Ham tore Nottingham Forest apart in their Gameweek 4-0 thrashing. There was some great underlying offensive stats from several West Ham attackers, one being striker Danny Ings (£6.4m) but another Jarrod Bowen (£8m).

Amongst all players in the league this week Bowen ranked first for attempts on goal (six) and first for shots in the box (four). The midfielder picked up six points after creating an assist but it should have been more.

Bowen has really struggled to pick up where left off last season but his recent form is interesting. The winger bagged his third return in five games this week. Some may feel that that is not enough but others could well patch him into their FPL watchlists moving forward.
