Costa continues to reward his UCL Fantasy owners. The Porto man has now banked an incredible three back-to-back double-digit hauls. Those huge returns include, three clean sheets, three penalties saved, an assist and one player of the match award.
Diogo Costa has been mesmerising in UCL Fantasy so far. He plays on the Tuesday which means he can be swapped out for a Wednesday goalkeeper if he fails to return. His penalty saving ability, clean sheet potential and his teams improving form means he makes the top picks for Matchday 6.
Remko Pasveer
Things have not gone to plan for Ajax as of late. In their last 10 matches in all competitions, they have won just four matches, lost five and drawn one. In that same period, they have also kept just one clean sheet. Although that is concerning, they still sit at the top of their domestic league and have showed they are fully capable of keeping plenty of clean sheets at the start of their season. We also have to factor in their Matchday 6 opponent.
Ajax face Rangers in the round ahead. The Scottish side have shown woeful form both offensively and defensively. In their five Champions League matches so far, Rangers have failed to score four of them. This suggests they are really struggling to score goals. It also furthers the appeal of the Ajax defence.
Remko Pasveer is priced at £4.9m. In his 21/22 domestic campaign, Pasveer managed to keep a massive 17 clean sheets in the 20 matches he played. This meant the 38-year-old only conceded in three of his matches.
This season domestically, Pasveer has collected four clean sheets in his 11 matches. The Dutch goalkeeper is fully capable in goal and has shown that in recent seasons. He also plays on the Tuesday, so if he fails to return, he can substituted on for a Wednesday goalkeeper. Gregor Kobel
Dortmund signed some fantastic defensive players in the summer and since then their defence has improved although not as much as they would have liked. In their last 10 matches in all competitions, Dortmund have kept four clean sheets.
The German side face Copenhagen in Matchday 6 on the Wednesday. Although usually dominant in their domestic league, their poor form has seen them sink to eight in the league. That torrid form has also been seen in the Champions League. Copenhagen have failed to score in any of their five UCL matches. There could not be a clearer sign the Danish side are struggling to score.
Gregor Kobel comes in at just £4.9m. Last season in the Bundesliga, Dortmund struggled for defensive consistency. That was shown as Kobel managed just seven clean sheets in his 29 starts. Kobel also proved his potential in Matchday 5. The Swiss goalkeeper picked up a 12-point haul for his penalty save and clean sheet. Against an offensively poor opponent ahead, Kobel could have plenty of potential and for that reason and the factors above, he makes the top picks for Matchday 6.
Kepa Arrizabalaga
Chelsea continue to improve under new manager Graham Potter. In their last 10 matches in all competitions, Chelsea have won six, drawn three and lost one. Interestingly the Blues are unbeaten under Potter.
In that same 10 match period, Chelsea have also kept five clean sheets. Again, this is a huge improvement in comparison to patches under former manager Tuchel towards the end of his reign. They face Dinamo Zagreb in Matchday 6.
Although first in their domestic league, Dinamo Zagreb have shown inconsistencies. In their last five matches they have taken just one win away, dropping points in the other four. Their occasional lack of goals was seen in Matchday 6, where they were dismantled 4-0 by away side AC Milan.

Defenders – Ivan Perisic
Although Tottenham’s results appear to be unsteady, they still sit first in their Champions League group and third in the English Premier League. Manager Conte will be looking to steady the ship after keeping just three clean sheets in their last 10 matches in all competitions.
Tottenham face Marseille in Matchday 6. The French side have shown their own inconsistencies as of late. In their last 10 matches in all competitions, they have won four, lost five and drawn one. Marseille have also failed to score in two of their three last matches played. This could indicate they are lacking goals.
Ivan Perisic sits at a premium price of £6m. The Croatian offers much more than clean sheet potential. This was highlighted in his time at Inter. In his 21/22 domestic season Perisic scored eight goals and created seven assists. This tallies up to 15 attacking returns in his 35 matches played.
This season we have also seen attacking potential. We can see from the heatmap below Perisic loves to get forward. In fact, most of his play is in the opponent’s half. We can even see huge movement in the oppositions box. This is really promising and could indicate that the Croatian puts himself in fantastic attacking positions.
We have already seen that Perisic can be creative. This season the wingback has already picked up three assists in the Premier League. Also, in the four Champions League matches he has been involved in, Perisic has collected two assists. This furthers his overall appeal.
Ivan Perisic has shown huge attacking potential and with a game against an out of sorts Marseille next, the Croatian must be considered amongst the top picks for Matchday 6.
Pedro Porro
Sporting are team many looked forward to watching play in the new Champions League campaign. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. The Portuguese side have struggled to maintain consistency in all departments this season. In the last 10 matches Sporting have managed to keep just two clean sheets.
We have seen Sporting fully capable of keeping clean sheets. In their first eight matches in all competitions, they managed to keep five clean sheets. This is a good reflection of their defensive capabilities. Sporting have a match against Frankfurt at home in Matchday 6. Although in a run of good form, Frankfurt have struggled to score goals on occasions.
Pedro Porro (£5.1m) does have a very accessible price-tag. After recovering from his recent short-term injury, the Portuguese right back appears back to full health. In his 21/22 domestic campaign Porro played 23 matches. In that time, he managed four goals and four assists. This shows a great attacking balance and that he is capable of both goals and assists.
This season has been no different. Porro continues to display plenty of attacking threat. In the seven matches he has played in the Portuguese league, he has managed to create three assists already. That attacking potential has also been shown in the Champions League when he created an assist in Matchday 1.
We can see from the heatmap above that Porro spends more of his time in the opponent’s half than he does defending in his own. This is something UCL Fantasy managers look for when trying to find attacking potential amongst defenders.
Porro’s thirst for attacking was reflected in his most recent match against Tottenham. He finished the game without a return but still created a key pass and had a shot on target. Porro has a good price-tag, impressive attacking potential and a good home fixture ahead. Due to the factors above, he makes his way into the top picks for Matchday 6.
Alejandro Grimaldo
Benfica have enjoyed some of Europe’s best form over the course of this season. The Portuguese side remain unbeaten this season. In their last 10 matches. Benfica have won seven and drawn three. Interestingly two of those draws were against PSG in Matchday 4 and Matchday 5.
In that same 10 match period they have kept four clean sheets, a good reflection of their potential. They face Maccabi Haifa in Matchday 6. In their last 10 matches, the Israeli side have lost half of them. This shows that they can be inconsistent. What is important to know is that in the reverse fixture Benfica took a comfortable 2-0 win away.
Alejandro Grimaldo comes in at a nice price of just £5.3m. Last season domestically, the left back managed to play 29 matches. In that time Grimaldo scored five goals and created five assists. Combined with his six clean sheets, the Spaniard totalled 16 returns. The defender shows multiple routes to points.
This season his attacking potential has not changed. In his nine Portuguese league matches, Grimaldo has already picked up two assists and banked four clean sheets. We can see below that Grimaldo spends the majority of his game time in the opponent’s half. This only increases his chances of attacking returns.
Not only can Grimaldo both score and assist from open play, but he also takes set pieces, another factor boosting up his appeal and another route to points. The Spaniard showed his true potential in Matchday 1. He picked up a whopping 20-point return from his goal, assist, clean sheet and player of the match award.
With a great fixture ahead and plenty of clean sheet and offensive potential, Alejandro Grimaldo makes the top picks for Matchday 6 with ease.
Raphaël Guerreiro
We have already seen that Dortmund have been playing well lately. The German side have now racked up three back-to-back clean sheets in the last three games. One of the teams they kept a clean sheet against was Man City, which is a positive factor alone.
We have also seen that Dortmund face one of the worst sides in the Champions League. Copenhagen have failed to score a single goal in their current campaign. This could suggest investing in the Dortmund defence a good idea.
Raphaël Guerreiro has been injured as of late but his return to fitness could be a quick one. Rumours suggest the left back could start as soon as the weekend. If correct, the chances of Guerreiro starting in Matchday 6 increase hugely.
The Portuguese defender has been known for his attacking threat. His ability has not gone unnoticed. Interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe maintains and that is another reflection of just how good he can be.

Joao Cancelo
Man City have shown some excellent form as of late. In their last 10 matches in all competitions, they have won seven, drawn two, and lost just one. What is even more impressive is that the English side have only lost to Liverpool all season.
The Man City defence has been very strong. In the same 10 match period, they have also kept six clean sheets. This is one of the highest amongst the Champions League participants. Another appealing factor is that Man City have also kept four clean sheets in their five UCL matches. This means the English side’s defence could be considered even stronger in Europe.
Joao Cancelo comes in as the most expensive defender in the game. His price-tag sits at a whopping £6.7m, but is he worth it? Last season in the Premier League Cancelo bagged one goal, seven assists and 19 clean sheets. This tallies up to a huge 27 returns in 36 matches. His potential was also clear in his last Champions League campaign. Cancelo picked up two goals, three assists and three clean sheets, combining to eight returns in the nine matches he played.
This season Cancelo has sustained that great attacking ability. In the 11 Premier League matches he has played, the Portuguese international has already secured two goals, one assist and three clean sheets. This totals to six returns. However, in his current Champions League season, that attacking potential has improved even more. In his five Matchdays so far, he has collected a whopping four assists. Combined with his clean sheets and Cancelo totals six returns in five matches.
Cancelo has been slightly unlucky as of late. Not only was he dragged off minutes before banking the clean sheet in Matchday 4, but he was also taken off at half time before his clean sheet points came in in Matchday 5.
The attacking defender faces a fixture against an inconsistent Sevilla next. As well as his sky-high attacking capabilities, he also has great clean sheet potential, providing Pep keeps him on the pitch. Joao Cancelo simply has to make the top picks for Matchday 6.
Ben Chilwell
As we saw with Kepa, the Chelsea form has improved since Potter’s take over as manager. Those improvements have then had a very positive affect on the results. We have already seen that in the fact that Chelsea are unbeaten in all competitions since their new manager arrived.
With those big improvements, Chelsea’s defensive assets have become more appealing. A reminder that in the last 10 matches, the Blues have kept five clean sheets. Again, those five clean sheets have all come in their last seven matches, since Graham Potter took over.
Although Ben Chilwell (£5.5m) failed to start the previous match, his chances of playing Matchday 6 can only improve. The English international suffered a long-term injury last season. But, before he did, he really proved his attacking potential. In the seven domestic matches he did play, Chilwell scored three goals and created one assist.
We can see from his heat map above that Chilwell loves to drive forward. The majority of his play is in the opponent’s half with large patches of positioning in the opposition’s box. The Chelsea man also takes corners which adds to his overall appeal.
With a good fixture against Dinamo Zagreb next, it could be worth taking the risk and because of the factors above, Ben Chilwell makes the top picks for Matchday 6.
Midfielders – Ajax
For the first time in this article, we will dedicate a section to Ajax. Interestingly, The Dutch league leaders have had a huge lack of midfielder options in UCL Fantasy. Usually, fantasy teams have been full of Ajax forwards, but that looks to have changed dramatically this season.
Ajax have been inconsistent lately. We can see that in the fact they have won four, lost five and drawn once in their last 10 matches. However, what has been apparent is that they can be a high scoring team and it has been that way for years.
In the same 10 match period as above, Ajax have scored a whopping 26 goals. That averages to 2.6 goals scored per match. With a great recent scoring average, it could be extremely difficult to avoid their attacking assets, especially when considering their opponents.
Ajax face Rangers in Matchday 6. The Scottish side have been awful in their current Champions League campaign. As well as losing all of their matches so far, they have also conceded a whopping 19 goals. That averages out at 3.8 goals conceded per match.
Considering their own scoring rate and the conceding rate of their opponents, Ajax look to be one of the best midfields to invest in ahead of Matchday 6. For that reason, we will take a look at some of the options they have to offer.
Mohammed Kudus
The 22-year-old midfielder comes in at just £5.4m in the game. This could be seen as the kind of price-tag to enable the other expensive options within our fantasy teams. Due to his age and lack of minutes over recent seasons, it would be unfair to unearth his attacking output.
However, this season, Kudus looks to be cementing himself into the first team. In the 11 domestic matches he has played, he has picked up five goals. Although that is the case, it is his Champions League form that has caught the eye of both fans and managers.
Kudus has proved to be one of the best value for money assets in UCL Fantasy. His 32 points consist of 1 assist, three goals and a player of the match award. Although Kudus failed to start in Matchday 5, there could be a huge opportunity ahead of him with a match against Rangers.
Due to his price-tag, form and opponent. Mohammed Kudus has to be considered and for that reason makes his inclusion into the top picks for Matchday 6.
Steven Bergwijn
Doubling up on the Ajax attack this week could be hugely beneficial. For that reason, UC Fantasy mangers could also consider Steven Bergwijn. The Dutch winger really struggled to maintain any sort of consistency during his spell at Tottenham in the Premier League.
Bergwijn looked destined for a move away from Tottenham and it happened. The Dutch international made his way over to his home league and it seems like he’ll never look back. Already this season Bergwijn has managed seven goals and two assists. This tallies to nine attacking returns in 11 matches.
Although not as relentless in the Champions League due to tougher opponents, the Dutchman has still picked up two goals. One of the goals he scored was conveniently against his Matchday 6 opponents in the reverse fixture.
We can see in his heatmap below that although Bergwijn is categorized as a midfielder in the game, he takes up some very advanced positioning. We can also see mass patches of positioning in the opponent’s box. This shows that can be in the opposition’s box on a regular basis.
At a very affordable price of £7.1m, Bergwijn has the form and opponent to do really well in Matchday 6. For those reasons, the winger takes up his place amongst the top picks for Matchday 6.
Steven Berghuis
Another Ajax midfielder that could be considered is Steven Berghuis. The 30-year-old attacker has proved to be a fantastic player over the recent seasons. In his 20/21 campaign the Dutchman scored 18 goals and created 12 assists. Those numbers total up to 30 attacking returns in his 31 matches played. This is a showing of great potential.
His great form continued in the following season. In Berghuis’s 21/22 domestic campaign he notched up eight goals and 11 assists. Fast forward to the current domestic campaign and he has scored five goals and created three assists. This tallies up to eight returns in his 11 matches played.
Similar to his teammate Steven Bergwijn, Berghuis comes in at a fair price of £7.2m. Another similarity to Bergwijn, is the fact that Berghuis also performed well in the reverse fixture against his Matchday 6 opponents. The midfielder hit 11 UCL Fantasy points for his assist and goal.
At a nice price, in great form and against a defensively woeful opponent, Steven Berghuis makes the top picks for Matchday 6.
Vinícius Júnior
Real Madrid are another team showing some of the best form amongst all teams in Europe. In their last 10 matches in all competitions, they have won seven, drawn two and lost one. The one match they did lose was in their previous Champions League match against Leipzig.
Celtic lay ahead of Real Madrid in Matchday 6. So far, the Scottish team have conceded 10 goals in their five matches in the Champions League. That means they’re also conceding an average of two goals per match.
In the same 10 match period as above, the Spanish giants have also racked up 20 goals. That averages out at two goals scored per match. For that reason, investing in the Real Madrid attack could be highly beneficial to UCL Fantasy players.
Vinícius Júnior comes in at the premium price of £10m. Although pricy, the Brazilian has definitely proved his worth. In the previous domestic campaign, the winger collected a huge 17 goals and 10 assists. His tally reached 27 goal contributions in his 35 matches played.
That top form from the previous season continued into the new season. So far in the 11 matches played, Vinícius Júnior has scored five goals and created three assists. His current Champions League run has also been impressive. In the five UCL matches he has played in, Júnior has scored three goals and picked up an assist.
With a match against a poor defensive unit and in top form in all competitions, Vinícius Júnior walks into the top picks for Matchday 6.
Christopher Nkunku
Leipzig have been a positive path of improving form recently. After just one win in their first five matches in all competitions, the German side are steadying the ship. In their last 10 matches, Leipzig have won six, lost two and drawn two.
In the same 10 match period as above, Leipzig have also hit 23 goals. This averages out at 2.3 goals scored per match. Another great scoring average and one that could be seen as very appealing to interested UCL Fantasy managers.
Leipzig play Shakhtar Donetsk in Matchday 6. The Ukranian side have shown huge inconsistencies in defence this season. In fact, they have kept just one clean sheet in their last 10 matches in all competitions. This could indicate they are a team to target.
Christopher Nknunku has become a wanted man recently. His performances have peaked the interest of some of the best clubs in Europe. The 24-year-old has made huge progress over the two seasons. In his 20/21 season, the attacker picked up six goals and six assists in his 28 matches played.
We can see huge improvements in comparison to his 20/21 season when we look at the last domestic campaign. In the 34 matches he played, Nkunku came away with a massive 20 goals and 13 assists. This led to 33 goal contributions, one short of his number of matches played.
This season the £9m midfielder has bagged eight goals in his 11 domestic matches. What is interesting is that six of those goals were scored his last seven matches. This could show that Nkunku has hit a great run of form and investing in him now could be key.
In form and scoring in his latest Champions Leaue match against Real Madrid could be enough to make him a high priority for the round ahead. However, when factoring in his penalty duty and opponent, Nkunku could become one of the must haves of the week. For those factors, Nkunku has to make the top picks for Matchday 6.
Joao Mario
We already covered the excellent recent form of Benfica. However, amongst those top results, the Portuguese side have netted 20 times in their last 10 matches in all competitions. That top run has made them highly appealing to fantasy managers, especially with a great fixture ahead.
Benfica play Maccabi Haifa in Matchday 6. Although the Israeli side can be dominant in their own league, they still have massive defensive fragilities. In their last 10 matches, Maccabi Haifa, have won five and lost five. In that same period, they have also conceded 20 goals. That averages at two goals conceded per match.
Mario comes in at just £6m in the game. This type of price can really help UCL Fantasy mangers. Finding cheap enablers in the game is vital when trying to fit in the more expensive options and that is where Mario fits in.
It would be unfair to suggest Mario is just the penalty taker because he is much more. Although penalties can be a huge factor when selecting a player, having even more potential routes to points is detrimental to finding a great value player.
This season Joao Mario has played nine domestic matches. In those games the Portuguese midfielder has managed four goals and three assists. This shows excellent valuer for his price. On top of that, Mario’s attacking output has extended into the current Champions League campaign. In his first five UCL matches, the Benfica man hit three goals and created one assist.
At such a good price, taking penalties and offering great assist potential, Joao Mario simply has to be considered amongst the top picks for Matchday 6.
Jude Bellingham
Dortmund have been inconsistent over the last 10 matches. The German side have won four, lost three and drawn three in that period. However, they are scoring goals. In the same 10 match period, they scored 18 goals, averaging 1.8 goals per match.
Another massive factor we have to take into account is Dortmund’s Matchday 6 opponent. They face a poor Copenhagen in the round ahead. The Danich side are struggling in their own league when many would expect them to be dominant. Copenhagen have conceded 14 goals in their last 10 matches in all competitions.
As well as averaging 1.4 goals conceded per match, Copenhagen have also conceded 11 matches in their five Champions League matches. This means their averaging over two goals conceded per match. This could be seen as an average worth attacking.
Jude Bellingham has become a sensation over the previous two seasons. His efforts have attracted the biggest clubs in Europe. Although his attacking output has been below average domestically, that cannot be said for his Champions League performances.
Bellingham sits at a nice price of £7.5m. The English midfielder has returned more than five points in every single Matchday he has played. In fact, his 49 points have made him the joint top scorer in UCL Fantasy. Those points include an impressive three double-digit hauls. One of those hauls came against his Matchday 6 opponents in the reverse fixture. Bellingham hit 11 points for his goal and nine ball recoveries.
In great European form against a poor Copenhagen, Jude Bellingham has bags of potential ahead and for that reason makes the top picks for Matchday 6.
Forwards – Mehdi Taremi
Porto have shown strong form this season. In the last 10 matches they have won seven, lost two and drawn once. This is already an indicator the Portuguese side are in a strong run of form. In that same period Porto have also notched up an impressive 25 goals. This means they have averaged 2.5 goals scored per game.
Porto face Atletico Madrid in Matchday 6. The Spanish side have really struggled to gain momentum this season. That could also be said for their defensive ability. In their last 10 matches in all competitions, they have conceded 11 goals. This shows they have averaged 1.1 goals conceded per match. Atletico Madrid cannot progress; this could also indicate they will be lacking in motivation to compete.

Erling Haaland
Man City have shown some of the best attacking stats in the league for years. Too this day nothing has changed. Overall, they have great form and form that is always expected of them. In the last 10 matches in all competitions, Man City have scored 27 goals. This is an elite scoring average and an average that simply has to be invested in.
The English side face Sevilla in Matchday 6. The Spanish strugglers have found it difficult to maintain any sort of consistency since the start of the season. In their last 10 matches in all competitions, they have conceded 13 goals. This averages to 1.3 goals conceded per game.
Erling Haaland sits at the premium price of £11.1m. It is also worth noting he is one of the most owned players in the game with 63%. This could mean backing against him a massive risk to rank. His relentless form has not stopped gaining momentum this season.
In the 10 matches the striker has played domestically he has scored a massive 17 goals and created three assists. this means Haaland is averaging two attacking returns per match. This average is unmatched amongst all players in the Champions League currently.

Rafael Leão
Milan have been consistent as of late. In the last 10 matches in all competitions, they have won seven matches and three. It is worth mentioning that those three losses were against Chelsea (twice) and the most in form team in Europe, Napoli.
Amongst that great form Milan are also scoring plenty. In the same 10 match period, The Italian side have bagged 21 goals. This averages out at 2.1 goals scored per match. AC Milan face against Salzburg in Matchday 6.
