Last modified date

We take a look UCL Fantasy teams to target in Matchday 9. Looking at the draw, team form and their opponents to see which teams are worth investment as they head into their quarter final matches in the new round.

Focusing on UCL Fantasy teams to target in Matchday 9 could be absolutely detrimental for managers heading into the latter stages of the competition. Knowing which teams to back will be key to any managers success this season.

Napoli

Napoli drew fellow Italian side AC Milan in the quarter finals of the Champions league. If they win they then go onto face either Benfica or Inter in the semi-finals. Napoli have the best path to the final which is an early indicator that they could be one of the best teams to invest in.

To highlight the imperious form of Napoli this season, they sit 16 points clear at the top of Serie A. In their last 10 matches in all competitions they have won a whopping eight times, losing just twice. In that same period Napoli have also netted 21 goals, averaging 2.1 goals scored per game whilst also keeping a massive eight clean sheets.

Benfica

Benfica could be another fantastic long term team to invest in. The Portuguese team have drawn Inter in their quarter final match. If they win they then go onto play either Napoli or AC Milan. This suggests, after Napoli, they have the second best route to the final, once against indicating they could be one of the best teams to buy into.

To highlight their form, Benfica are 10 points clear at the top of Liga Portugal. In their last 10 matches they have managed to claim nine victories, losing just once. In the same period Benfica have also notched up a monstrous 27 goals, averaging 2.7 goals scored per match. They also kept a very impressive six clean sheets.

Manchester City

Manchester City face a tough tie against German giants Bayern. If they manage to win they then go onto play either Chelsea or Real Madrid, two teams who have shown inconsistencies in their league performances throughout their domestic campaign.

One huge benefit to investing in Manchester City is that they play in the first fixture of Matchday 9. This means that managers will be able to see their line-ups before they make their moves. Manchester City are known for rotation so playing in the early kick-offs could be detrimental to managers decisions. The English side are considerably better at home and this is where their first leg against Bayern will take place.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid have won more Champions League titles than any other team in Europe. This suggests that the Spanish side have elite experience in dealing with the latter stages of the competition and regardless of their domestic inconsistencies, we have always seen a huge uptake in their form when playing in the Champions League.

Chelsea lay ahead for Real Madrid, a team who have majorly lacked form this season and are constantly battling with repeated key player injuries. Real Madrid play at home in the first leg and away in the second but regardless of the venue, their performances are always at the same high level.
