Team Reveal GW34 – Chelsea midfielders for FPL Inzaghi

Last modified date

Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.

Ahead of Gameweek 34, it’s the turn of FPL Inzaghi to tell us what he is doing to his team.

Hi FPL Inzaghi and thanks for the team reveal. Firstly, how did Gameweek 33 go?

It was a satisfying week despite a painful captaincy blank! I had two free transfers and all intentions of switching Harry Kane to Cristiano Ronaldo and rolling the other one. However, Bruno Fernandes – with slightly better xMins and a similar xPTS – convinced me to go for the midfielder. That didn’t work out but returns from Mohamed Salah, Bukayo Saka, Dan Burn and even Wout Weghorst have me on 78 points before Thursday night’s match. A nice green arrow.

Secondly, do you like your current squad? Who is a player you’d like to own but don’t?

With one free transfer and only Reece James and Fernandes as my doublers, I’m keen to go on the attack. I’m definitely taking a hit and looking to bring in some Chelsea players, as well as fix my defence – Matt Doherty, Conor Coady and eventually Burn will have to go!

With a nice Double Gameweek against West Ham and Man United – two teams who have struggled defensively – I’m targeting the likes of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount and Marcos Alonso. Chelsea then faces Everton ahead of another double, so it feels like a good time to own their players.

So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 34 and beyond?

Despite his double, the injuries in Man United’s midfield will likely force Fernandes into a deeper role. His FPL appeal is therefore significantly diminished and I’m not keen on paying £11.6m for a defensive midfielder! I’m also looking to sell Harvey Barnes this week – despite his goal – because of the expected rotation and lack of minutes for Leicester players.

So I plan to sell Fernandes, Barnes and Doherty to fund moves for Havertz, Mount and Joao Cancelo.
It is an eight-point hit but I’m getting two Double Gameweek players, a strong captaincy option and Cancelo at home to Watford. I think hits in such weeks are perfectly viable, especially if you want these players long term – which I do!

And finally, what about captaincy?

At this stage, the armband is on Havertz. I am tempted by Salah at home to the worst travellers in the league, Everton. However, the allure of the Double Gameweek is too strong and I’ll likely go Havertz, with Mount as vice.

Good luck and thank you for the team reveal!
