Team Reveal GW29 – Which three transfers might Ryan (Football Chatbox) make?

Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.

Ahead of Gameweek 29, it’s the turn of Ryan (Football Chatbox) to tell us what he is doing to his team.

Hi Ryan and thanks for the team reveal. Firstly, how did Gameweek 28 go?

Pretty well, I played my wildcard and ended up on 111 points. This moved me from an overall rank of 22,435th to 14,504th. I’m slowly getting to that top 10k target for the season.

Secondly, do you like your current squad? Who is a player you’d like to own but don’t?

At the moment yes, it is set up to target the nearby fixtures and then, after Gameweek 31, I will have to assess again depending on how the Double Gameweek announcements go.

For now, it’s hard to say which player I’d most like. To get my current squad, I’ve had to give up on a few other players like Son Heung-min or Joao Cancelo and, while they could easily have a high upside every gameweek, I’m hoping those in my team can do enough to make up for their absence.

So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 29 and beyond?

Even though I played the wildcard in Gameweek 28, I’m looking at taking an eight-point hit to target the doubles of 29. An injury to Reece James, alongside the unconvincing nature of Leeds, means my current transfer moves are James, Antonio Rudiger and Raphinha out for Matt Doherty, Andrew Robertson and Bukayo Saka.

I’ve already moved from Raphinha to Saka and will keep the rest closer to the deadline as Liverpool’s lunchtime kick-off could lead to rumours about who has Covid. So I will be hoping to see if I can find any early team news.

Moving into GW30, that should leave me with nine players. I could potentially then sell Robertson for James Justin to get Leicester defensive coverage or I could just play with nine and have 2 free transfers for GW31, as it will just be after the international break. It all depends on how Leicester look defensively against Arsenal at the weekend.

And finally, what about captaincy?

This week, many managers will look at triple captaining Salah and rightfully so – he is the best player in the league, having a double gameweek. Having already used my chip on him in Gameweek 26, I will only be able to regularly captain him. Therefore, I will give him the armband to act as a shield for my rank.

Apart from him, the other option would be Harry Kane but we know Spurs could be hot or cold in any game and that inconsistency means I’d rather go with a Liverpool option.
