Score Predictions: Gameweek 22

Last modified date

When making FPL decisions many FPL managers mentally predict the outcome of matches

  • Who will win?
  • Will there be a clean sheet in this match?
  • How many goals can I see being scored?
  • How many players do I want to play in this game?

Gameweek 22 is looking to be an important set of fixtures for FPL managers. With eight teams due to play twice managers will need to decide how many Double Gameweek players they want in their squads and whether it is worth taking a hit or playing a chip to bring them in.

FPL Talking Points

Fun fact: Crystal Palace have drawn four games so far this season with the exact same scoreline – 2-2. That’s roughly 20% of all their Gameweeks with the same score. They have also recorded a 3-3 draw vs Burnley, as a 2-3 lost to West Ham in Gamweek 21.

Crystal Palace therefore are averaging good attacking returns and it is those players that FPL managers should target. Edouard has now returned in three of the last four Gameweeks registering 30 points in that period so he could be a good single Gameweek player to target.

WIth new signings at Newcastle as well as a Burnley defence which has been quite solid this season I am slightly worried that the goals, which made us all want either Josh King or Emmanuel Dennis (in addition to their budget-enabling prices) might dry up just in time for their enticing Double Gameweek. While certainly not a sell, I am not planning on buying ahead of Double Gameweek 22, even though they will likely be two of the most transfered players in.

With Son injured Spurs will be reliant on the likes of Kane and Moura for their Double Gameweek. Kane has an excellent record against both Arsenal and Leicester and therefore he could be a great investment. I think Spurs will score in both of their games and with Kane returning in three of the last for Gameweeks he should be a productive option.

Whilst West Ham, Liverpool and Aston Villa only have single Gameweeks I think they will score well this weekend, therefore their assets shouldn’t be discounted as a result of only playing once when making your transfer decisions.
