Raphinha v Emile Smith-Rowe v Said Benrahma
Picking a fourth midfielder is a difficult task for FPL managers at the moment as there are so many performing. The new Fantasy Football Scout Members Area is the perfect place to analyse the different assets.
We used their comparison tool to compare the three most heavily owned budget midfielders ahead of the Gameweek 12 deadline.
Radar Graphs
The radar graphics allow members to visually see how the players they select are performing in comparison to one another.
This one
This one highlights Raphinha’s dominance for goal attempts, chances created and goals in comparison to Smith-Rowe and Benrahma. It shows visually that Smith-Rowe has had more shots in the box as well as registered more FPL points, meanwhile Benrahma is ahead for assists an baseline BPS.
Tables
One of the things that the members area delivers brilliant are the comparison tables. The table above shows a section of the involvement statistics. Of the three players involved in our comparison both Smith-Rowe and Benrahma have registered 11 appearances, however it is the Hammer who has played the most minutes. Smith-Rowe is also top for touches and minutes per touch, whilst Raphinha is top for touches in the final third.
The tables can also highlight other areas which are key to decision making including, BPS, goal threat, distribution and more.
They also showcase the players expected stats:
Expected Goals
- Benrahma – 1.91
- Raphinha – 1.89
- Smith-Rowe – 1.56
Expected Assists
- Raphinha – 2.38
- Benrahma – 1.25
- Smith Rowe – 1.04
Expected Goal Involvement
- Raphinha – 4.27
- Benrahma – 3.16
- Smith-Rowe – 2.60
In the case of these three Benrahma and Raphinha have the best expected stats.
Heat Maps
Heat maps are a fantastic tool for FPL managers as they show us where the players are positioned on the field and therefore their likelihood for attacking points returns.
Whilst the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area provides these position heat maps it also goes much further giving managers access to heat maps for a variety of different skills.
The shots heat map pictured below shows the position of the players when they take the shots. Interestingly Smith-Rowe is the most central of the players and takes a higher proportion of his shots from inside the box when compared to Benrahma and Raphinha whose shots are less central and more often from outside the oppositions box.
Team Comparisons
The new members area also allows members to compare two teams. This is really useful if you are undecided on which team makes the best investment especially for key decisions such as who to double up on at the back as or which attack looks most promising for attacking returns.
