Last modified date

Taking a look at line-ups, goals, assists, clean sheets and anything else we could highlight that could have implications for FPL managers. We cover the Man City v Brentford match report. Covering eye test and key moments through-out the match with the help of the Fantasy Football Scout members area.

Overviewing the Man City v Brentford match can be helpful in identifying key moments in the match. This can then give FPL managers a good insight into which players and teams looked good, key injuries, fitness and even more to help us make decisions in FPL.

Line-ups – Man City

Erling Haaland (£12.2m) starts the game. To the dismay of managers, the striker failed to start in Gameweek 15. Many within the community will be resting their captaincy hopes on the forward. Kevin De Bruyne (£12.6m) also starts the game. The Belgian will be hoping to continue his relentless FPL output.

Brentford

Forward Ivan Toney (£7.4m) will be looking to make Gareth Southgate regret his decision to leave him out of the World Cup squad. The striker sits as the third highest scoring player in his position. Midfielder Yoane Wissa (£5.4m) makes the substitute bench after picking up a double-digit haul of 12 points in Gameweek 15.

Key moments

  • After a long ball out from the Brentford goalkeeper, centre back Ben Mee (£4.6m) rose high to nod the ball towards the six-yard box. That ball was headed into the goal by striker Ivan Toney. This put the visitors 1-0 up.
  • Kevin De Bruyne stepped up to take the corner which was headed out by defender Manuel Akanji (£5m) and met with a stunning half volley by midfielder Phil Foden (£8.3m) to make it 1-1 just before half time.
  • Erling Haaland plays in midfielder Ilkay Gundogan (£7.3m) who misses a huge chance to score.
  • Forward Bryan Mbeumo (£5.8m) was replaced after a picking up a yellow card. Midfielder Yoane Wissa came onto replace him.
  • A quick counterattack saw midfielder Josh Da Silva (£4.2m) beat his man to place a low cross to Ivan Toney. Toney tapped in to make it 2-1 to the visitors.

Standout FPL performances

  • Brentford main man Ivan Toney picked up a huge 13 points because of his two goals and three bonus points.
  • Man City’s Phil Foden scored and collected two bonus points. This meant he reached nine points.
  • Defender Manuel Akanji may have conceded, but his assist and bonus led to him returning five points.
