Injuries and Bans ahead of Gameweek 14
For Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, the availability of their players both in terms of injuries as well as bans is an important part of their Gameweek preparations.
With a short turn around between the end of Gameweek 13 and the Gameweek 14 deadline it’s more important than ever to have a clear understanding of which players are available and which aren’t.
Here’s a round-up of what we know so far in terms of injuries and bans.
INJURIES
Players to monitor ahead of Gameweek 14
Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) – Complained of muscle tightness around the hip area in the match against Newcastle on 27/11 and will be assessed.
Sergi Canos (Brentford) – Substituted with an unspecified injury in the match against Everton on 28/11 but his manager expects him to be fit for the Spurs game on 2/12.
Rico Henry (Brentford) – Substituted with an unspecified injury in the match against Everton on 28/11 but his manager expects him to be fit for the Spurs game on 2/12.
Christian Norgaard (Brentford) – Substituted with a back injury in the match against Everton on 28/11 but his manager expects him to be fit for the Spurs game on 2/12.
Jay Rodriguez (Burnley) – Muscle injury Suffering from muscle tightness ahead of the postponed Spurs game on 28/11 but “should be fine” according to his manager.
Matej Vydra (Burnley) – Suffering from muscle tightness ahead of the postponed Spurs game on 28/11 but “should be fine” according to his manager.
Phil Foden (Man City) – Missed the Gameweek 12 match against West Ham
Jack Grealish (Man City) – Missed England’s match against San Marino on 15/11 with a “minor injury” and returned to his club for further assessment, missed Gameweek 12 and 13.
Ben Foster (Watford) – Missed Gameweek 12 with a groin injury.
Aaron Cresswell (West Ham) – Withdrawn early with a back injury during the match against Man City 28/11
Potential FPL options with longer term injuries
Granit Xhaka (Arsenal) – Knee ligament damage picked up against Spurs (26th Sept), out for three months
David Raya (Brentford) – Ruled out for four to five months on 26/10 after sustaining a serious ligament injury in his left knee.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton) – Back in training following a muscle injury, still a “little way away”
Abdoulaye Doucoure (Everton) – Everton confirmed on 19/10 Doucoure has suffered a foot injury and will be assessed to determine the period of absence.
Demari Gray (Everton) – Muscle injury Will be assessed for a muscle injury picked up in the match against Manchester City on 21/11.
James Justin (Leicester) – ACL injury from the 2020/21 season
Wesley Fofana (Leicester) – Broken leg in pre-season
Harvey Elliot (Liverpool) – Serious ankle injury vs Leeds (12th Sept) which required surgery
Ferran Torres (Man City) – Fractured foot, ruled out for two-to-three months from 15th Oct
Raphael Varane (Man United) – Ruled out on 12th Oct for a few weeks with a thigh injury
Jack Stephens (Southampton) – Picked up a knee injury on 18th Sept. Ruled out for 10-12 weeks
Christian Kabasele (Watford) – Out for more than three weeks (7th Oct) due to a hamstring injury
Johnny (Wolves) – ACL injury from the 2020/21 season, on course for “a return in the new year”
Pedro Neto (Wolves) – Knee injury from 2020/21, due to have a specialist review in October but no further timeframe

James Tarkowski (Burnley) – 1 Match Ban Suspended for one match after picking up his fifth booking of the season on 20/11. Postponed game in Gameweek 13 now means he will miss Gameweek 14.
