Gameweek 9 Recap
Chances created:
6 – Kovacic
5 – Cucho
4 – Dennis, Keita, Rodrigo, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Smith-Rowe
A 7-0 win over Norwich brought six chances created for Mateo Kovacic. The £5.3m midfielder is now Chelsea’s leading FPL points scorer.
Despite playing just 13 minutes in Gameweek 9, Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne created four chances, the joint third highest in the Gameweek.
Shots in the box
8 – Foden
7 – Benteke
5 – Salah, King
Phil Foden recorded eight shots in the box on his way to an 18 point haul in Gameweek 9. The midfielder has now started the last four games and could be great value at £8.1m, playing up front for Manchester City. Mohamed Salah and Josh King hit five shots in the box each, and both went home with the match ball having scored a hattrick.
Expected Goals
Josh King: 2.10
Christian Benteke: 2.07
Mo Salah: 1.80
With hattricks for both Josh King and Mo Salah, Christian Benteke had to make do with just the one goal from the second highest xG of the Gameweek.
Chelsea’s Mason Mount grabbed his hattrick from an xG 1.40, the fourth highest in Gameweek 9.
Expected Goals Conceded (Teams)
Manchester United: 3.44
Brighton: 3.20
Everton: 3.11
It’s perhaps unsurprising to see the three highest xGC scores after Gameweek 9, considering those teams conceded five, four and five goals respectively.
What might be surprising however, is that despite losing 7-0, Norwich do not appear on this list, conceding seven goals from an xGC of just 2.96.
