Gameweek 19 Team 2019/20

Last modified date

Gameweek 19

Two free transfers provides plenty of flexibility for the squad as the Gameweek 19 team is set up.

Another tough captain decision emerges, given Liverpool’s visit to Leicester. The pool of players to select from seems depleted once more.

Gameweek 18 Review

Gameweek 18 brought another green arrow, as I moved nearer the 300k mark. I was relieved to amass a reasonable points total in what was predictably a low scoring week. Nick Pope has redeemed himself with consecutive clean sheets and Lundstram hit legend status once more. Cantwell provided a much needed job as a substitute for Liverpool’s blanks. Jimenez and Vardy predictably delivered again. Sunday’s games did little to boost the rank: Alli captain failed to deliver and Marcus Rashford suffered a shock defeat to Watford. It was a tough week for captaincy and the next one doesn’t look to get any easier. I’m losing patience with both Rashford and Alli since both have blanked since I brought them in two weeks ago. Can the promise of favourable fixtures save them? Gameweek 18 Review

Gameweek 19 Team

There’s flexibility with two free transfers. The overall team and bench seem in pretty good shape, so it’s tough to spend them. I have a lingering thought in my mind that it would be great to squeeze Mo Salah in, but that would require selling Marcus Rashford along with one of James Maddison or Dele Alli. It’s a tough call and will only leave room for a budget forward and a flexible formation. Is it worth it? Unused transfers do give the luxury of swapping premium players. As things stand, James Maddison drops to the bench, since Todd Cantwell has the better fixture. Matt Targett stays on the bench given Aston Villa’s questionable defence. There’s no obvious ways to use one of the free transfers, although it would be helpful to release some funds for future moves. Kevin De Bruyne takes the armband given his consistency this season. Gameweek 19 Transfers In the end, the temptation to get Salah was too great. A lack of trust in Manchester United and Spurs funded the move, with Mousset the most appealing forward in the price range up to 5.4 million. He has seen rotation, but gets minutes every game and can be impactful as a substitute. The transfers come with risk, but I’ve followed by gut on this one. I expect Liverpool to win every game over the festive period convincingly, without rotation for Salah. Gameweek 19 Team The team is ranked at 321,238 with 1014 points. All chips are still in tact, except the wildcard. Team value lies at £105.0 million, with £0.4 million in the bank.
