Gameweek 14 Team

Gameweek 14 Team

The big hitters dominated our thoughts for the Gameweek 14 team.

Starting 11 Mini Leagues

An injury doubt for Hazard, plus rotation over the festive period, has made the decisions difficult.

Gameweek 14 Squad

The Gameweek 14 team was in good shape, other than the yellow flag for Hazard. The big temptation was a move for Sterling. Gameweek 14 Squad The team is currently ranked at 3k, with 865 points, following a poor performance last weekend. Team value currently lies at 103.6 million following the moves. We weighed up the decision of Hazard to Sterling, despite an easy fixture against Fulham for Hazard. We couldn’t trust him with the armband given the yellow flag and we doubt whether he starts. He’s also struggling to link up with Morata. It seems of a waste of a space in the team if Hazard can’t be a captain option against the league’s worst defence, Elsewhere, Sterling is in fantastic form playing in the best attack in the league: we expect him to be the highest scoring player at the end of the season, so wanted him in long term. An easy fixture at home to Bournemouth increased the temptation but a straight swap wasn’t possible. To free up the vital funds, a variety of moves were considered. A double up on Bournemouth attackers has proved problematic, especially given their tricky fixtures. So, a move from Wilson to Jimenez looked most logical, with no Fraser replacements appealing.

Gameweek 14 Team

Sterling and Jimenez were on the watchlist last weekend, and given their fixtures and form we made the moves in at the expense of Hazard and Wilson. Gameweek 14 Team Captaincy was a huge decision this week, with Sterling, Aguero and Salah all considered. Salah is the safer option in terms of rotation, but Sterling’s form and record against Bournemouth was too tempting. City have the better fixture. However, Salah is given the vice captaincy in case rotation does hit. Sterling has been known to not feature at all if he is rested, in which case Salah would kick in: expect him to get on the scoresheet in the Merseyside derby. We also had a benching dilemma; question marks were raised over the capabilities of Wan-Bissaka, Bennett, Camarasa, Richarlison and Fraser. We fancy a clean sheet for Crystal Palace against Burnley, so Wan-Bissaka starts. We also expect a clean sheet for Manchester City, since they concede very little chances, so Fraser hits the bench. Richarlison plays against Robertson, but Robertson is capable of attacking returns and Richarlison as a forward simply cannot be benched. That means Camarasa and Bennett fill the other bench slots, but either one of them may be needed as the busy schedule hits.
