Gameweek 14 best free hit team

Last modified date

With a new Gameweek upon us we take a look at the free hit chip. Using the Fantasy Football Scout members area we can use the help of the season ticker and underlying stats to determine the Gameweek 14 best free hit team.

The free hit chip in FPL allows managers, within the same budget and formational limits, to select a team for one particular Gameweek. Managers can attack any given Gameweek with the free hit whether that be to utilise a good set of fixtures, in-form teams or players or a mixture of it all. However, Experienced FPL managers usually tend to use the chip in blank Gameweeks.

Fixture ticker

Who has the best fixtures?

We can see that Arsenal, Tottenham, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Everton make the top five teams for having the easiest fixtures. This could indicate it may be beneficial to invest in those teams when building the free hit.

Who has the worst fixtures?

We can see that Leicester, Leeds, Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Brighton make the bottom five teams for having the toughest fixtures. This could indicate it may be beneficial to avoid those teams when building the free hit.

The best free hit team

Using the Live FPL website we can use one of its fantastic tools available to plan transfers weeks in advance. Not just this, but we can also create team drafts to plan for using a chip. Take a look at the best free hit team for Gameweek 14:

Goalkeepers

Brentford have shown they can keep clean sheets this season. In fact, in the last five matches David Raya (£4.6m) has kept three clean sheets. Brentford face a Wolves side who have really struggled for goals this season and for that reason it could be beneficial to include Raya.

Raya is backed up by Leicester’s Danny Ward (£4.1m). It is highly unlikely he will be called upon and will sit comfortably on the substitute bench just in case Raya does not feature.

Arsenal face one of the worst offensive sides in the league this season, Nottingham Forest. For that reason, it could be wise to include an Arsenal defender. William Saliba (£5.2m) has provided both goals and assists already this season. With clean sheet potential and a great fixture ahead, he could be an easy inclusion.

Both Man City’s Joao Cancelo (£7.4m) and Newcastle’s Kieran Trippier (£5.8m) make the team. Both players sit as the top two highest scoring defenders in the game. Not only do they play for teams that have fantastic clean sheet potential, but both have big offensive potential too. It could be very difficult to leave any of them out. Monitoring Cancelo’s ‘tiredness’ could be vital in his inclusion.

Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi (£4.4m) and Everton’s Nathan Patterson (£4m) make the bench. It is highly unlikely any players will be required.

Midfielders

Newcastle continue to provide FPL managers with great value assets. One of those assets is Miguel Almiron (£5.4m). The budget midfielder has hit two back-to-back double-digit hauls in his last two Gameweeks and looks to be in great form. Man City dominate the majority of the underling offensive data in the league. Because of this, it could be worth investing in Phil Foden (£8.4m). The Man City youngster has already picked up six attacking returns in his 11 matches played so far.

Another team who have sustained some of the best attacking stats in the league is Arsenal. They play one of the worst defensive sides in the league in Gameweek 14. Because of this and their form in general, Gabriel Martinelli (£6.8m) and Bukayo Saka (£8m) should both be considered. Fulham’s Andreas Pereira (£4.6m) has proven to be an excellent first sub this season. Offering multiple routes to points Andreas will come on if another player fails to feature.

Forwards

Tottenham striker Harry Kane (£11.5m) is currently the second highest scoring player in FPL. His fantastic consistency has been overshadowed by Man City’s Erling Haaland (£12.2m). Both have shown elite FPL returning rates this season and both make the starting 11.

Everton are conceding more shots in the box than any other team this season, whilst Aleksander Mitrovic (£6.8m) is joint second amongst all players for attempts on goal.
