Two free transfers have been used to revitalise the squad, including some much needed Leicester City coverage.

Gameweek 10 Review

Gameweek 10 brought a mixture of emotions. Firstly, relief that my captain had scored for the first time since Gameweek 1. Getting the captaincy right has been a rare occurrence this season and there was a big dilemma faced before the deadline between Sterling and De Bruyne. This was also the first week that I had captained my highest points returner of the gameweek. The midfield and Tammy Abraham all delivered something, but it was a dismal time for the defence and strikers Callum Wilson and Sebastian Haller. Callum Wilson was brought in two weeks ago ahead of an enticing pair of favourable fixtures – over this time he has delivered nothing. Gameweek 10 Team

Multiple options were on the table with two free transfers this week. The key weak points in the squad were the defence and the underperforming forwards, plus the lack of Leicester City players who are in great form and with good upcoming fixtures. Jamie Vardy was the key transfer target, but lack of funds meant Callum Wilson and Sebastian Haller would have to be sold to fund the move. Bringing in Vardy left £6.1 million for a third striker, with Neal Maupay and Aaron Connolly the prime candidates, with Norwich this weekend. Connolly brought flexibility going forward, with some tricky fixtures scheduled for Brighton. However, he has a knock and is more of a rotation risk, so in the end Maupay seemed the more logical move, with his points ceiling this weekend highly tempting. The captaincy was always destined for Raheem Sterling, in-form and against a poor Southampton side. His rest in the midweek cup game only confirmed this decision. It was tricky to choose which three defenders to start, Tomori has a greater chance of a clean sheet than Pieters, but Pieters is the more attacking player. Hopefully this has landed the right way around. Gameweek 11 Tean The team is ranked at 1,445,320 with 512 points. All chips are still in tact, except the wildcard. Team value lies at £103.2 million, with £0.1 million in the bank.
