GAFFR top picks for Gameweek 26

Last modified date

We go through the GAFFR top picks for Gameweek 26 using stats, form and fixture ahead. After an exciting Gameweek 25, we look ahead to the new round. Gameweek 26 starts on the 1st of January. This means managers have little time to get their teams ready.

Going through the GAFFR top picks for Gameweek 26 can be hugely beneficial. As fantasy managers we are always looking for players who could do really well in the next round. For that reason, picking out some of the best assets for the Gameweek ahead can be detrimental to chase down the competition.

Ben Brereton Diaz

Blackburn’s start to the season has taken a recent slump. They have lost the last two matches on the bounce. Although that is the case, they are still fully capable of scoring goals. That can be reflected in the fact that they have only failed to score on one occasion in the last 10 matches in all competitions.

Cardiff lay ahead for Blackburn in Gameweek 26. The Welsh side have kept two back-to-back clean sheets but have shown major defensive fragilities this season, conceding two or more goals in 10 of their matches this season already.

One man who can turn Blackburn’s form around is Ben Brereton Diaz (£10.1m). At the time of writing he sits as the second highest scoring striker in the game. His 137 points mostly consists of nine goals and three assists. Diaz could have great potential and for that reason makes the top picks for Gameweek 26.

The Sunderland attack

Sunderland have been storming the Championship since being promoted from League 1. The newly promoted side sit fourth in the Championship, at the time of writing. The Sunderland attack is exciting and they have already managed to score two or more goals in a whopping 12 league matches this season.

They face a Blackpool side who are 23rd in the league. The strugglers haven’t won a game in their last eight matches whilst keeping just one clean sheet in the same period and have also conceded more than two goals in 10 of their matches so far.

Blackpool are a team to target and the cheap Sunderland attacking players have to be a priority for GAFFR managers. Sunderland have several attacking options. However, the standout option is striker Ross Stewart (£6.7m).

Stewart has already managed eight goals and three assists in just 10 matches, more goal contributions that matches played on average. Another fantastic option is Amad Diallo (£6.1m). The midfielder has notched up six goals and one assist in his last 10 matches.

There could be a strong argument to invest in two Sunderland attackers. Maintaining great value for money and with a great fixture ahead, it could be very difficult to avoid the Sunderland attacking assets in Gameweek 26.

Anass Zaroury

Burnley are having a fantastic season and lead the pack in the race for promotion. Buying into the Burnley attack could be vital due to their form. Usually, finding teams who score two goals or more is important but Burnley have bagged three goals or more in nine of their matches so far, showing they have the ability to provide more than enough potential for attacking players.

The league leaders face a Swansea side who have failed to win a match in their last eight games whilst keeping just one clean sheet. One way into the thrilling front line of Burnley could be Anass Zaroury (£7.1m).

Zaroury helped Croatia secure third place in the World Cup and scored in his first game back for Burnley. The midfielder also picked up three goals and one assist in his two league matches prior to the start of the World Cup. Investing in him whilst he is in form could be key and for those reasons, Anass Zaroury has to be considered amongst the top picks for Gameweek 26.

Iliman Ndiaye

Sheffield United are closing the gap on title challengers Burnley. The chasers are only behind on goal difference and have won eight out of their last 10 matches, reflecting brilliant form. They face QPR in Gameweek 26.

QPR have been struggling to maintain consistency since losing their manager. They have won just two of their last 10 matches whilst also conceding two or more goals in half of the same games. Their poor defensive form is there to be targeted by GAFFR managers.

The standout attacking option at Sheffield United is undoubtedly Iliman Ndiaye (£7.9m). Interestingly the midfielder is now the highest scoring midfielder in GAFFR with 168 points, 22 points ahead of second place Ilias Chair. Ndiaye has been detrimental to the Sheffield United attack and has already managed a huge nine goals and seven assists this season.
