FPL top picks for Gameweek 32

Last modified date

Utilising the fixture ticker and underlying stats from the Fantasy Football Scout members area, we pick out some of the FPL top picks for Gameweek 32. Considering team and player form, fixture difficulty and stats will help us shortlist some of the best assets for the round ahead.

Looking at the FPL top picks for Gameweek 32 can be extremely useful to managers in their quest for success. Knowing which players to target for the round ahead can help with important decisions like transfers and captaincy.

Fixtures

Below we can see the teams at the top with the easiest fixtures all of the way down to the bottom to teams with the toughest fixtures. We can also see that Brighton, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United do not have a fixture.

Goalkeepers – Alisson

Liverpool rank first on the fixture ticker this week. The Reds have been conceding some concerning defensive data this season. However they still rank third for clean sheets kept (11), proving they are capable at the back.

The Reds face a Nottingham Forest side who rank joint worst for goals scored this season (24), second worst for attempts on goal (301) and the worst for big chances total (35). Because of this it could be safe to go with the joint second highest scoring goalkeeper in the game, Alisson (£5.4m).

Aaron Ramsdale

Arsenal have put up some fantastic defensive data this season. In fact, amongst all teams they sit second best for clean sheets kept (12), third best for shots in the box conceded (183) and fourth best for shots on target conceded (101).

The league leaders have a game against the struggling Southampton in Gameweek 32. The Saints rank within the four worst teams in the league this season for goals scored (24), shots inside the box (203) and big chances total (40). Southampton are showing bluntness in front of goal and it could be wise to bring in Aaron Ramsdale (£4.9m).

Lukasz Fabianski

West Ham have been struggling to maintain a positive run of results this season. However, they have shown in recent times they are capable of clean sheets as they have managed to bank three in their last six matches.

One of the biggest factors towards the West Ham defence is the fact they face Bournemouth. The Cherries rank the worst in the league for attempts on goal (272), second worst for shots in the box (198) and second worst for shots in target (97). Because of this Luskasz Fabianski (£4.9m) could have good potential this week and so squeezes into the top picks for Gameweek 32.

Defenders – Trent Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool rank in the best four teams for clean sheets kept this season (11). They also come up against a Nottingham Forest side who are really struggling to score goals and get shots away. Because of this Liverpool have a good chance of keeping the clean sheet.

One player who offers much more than clean sheet potential is Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.3m). Not only does the full-back take set pieces giving him an additional route to points but he also ranks second amongst all defenders in the league for key distribution stats like crosses (193), successful crosses (58), chances created (52) and big chances created (17). Considering all of the above, Trent Alexander-Arnold eases his way into the top picks for Gameweek 32.

Andrew Robertson

We have already touched upon the fact that Liverpool are one of the best in the league at keeping clean sheets. Another key contributing factor to the appeal of the Liverpool backline this week is the fact that they play Nottingham Forest.

Andrew Robertson (£6.8m) has shown he has the potential to be one of the best performing defenders in the game over previous seasons. That may not be the case this season but he is still putting up some great stats. This campaign amongst all defenders Robertson ranks fourth for crosses (149), fourth for successful crosses (43), third for chances created (40) and third for big chances created (nine).

Ben White

Arsenal rank second for clean sheets so far this season (12), showing huge defensive strengths and more importantly the potential to return points. The fact that they have a game against Southampton is even more appealing, especially when considering they rank joint second worst for goals scored this campaign (24).

One of the best ways into the Arsenal backline is right-back Ben White (£4.9m). White has managed six returns in his last seven Premier League matches. His points consist of three clean sheets, two goals and one assist. He also ranks above his defensive teammates for non-penalty expected goal involvement in the last six Gameweeks (1.48).

Kieran Trippier

This season Newcastle rank the best for goals conceded (21), joint first for clean sheets kept (13), second best for shots in the box conceded (18), third best for shots on target conceded (93) and second best for big chances conceded (39).

With one of the best defences in the league Newcastle go into any given game with clean sheet potential. Full-back Kieran Trippier (£6.2m) sits as the highest owned and highest scoring defender in the game this campaign. He also ranks first amongst all defenders for distribution stats like crosses, chances created and big chances created. This indicates he has huge assist potential and because of that is an easy addition to the top picks for Gameweek 32.

Pedro Porro

Tottenham face Newcastle this week. Although inconsistent their opponent have proven blunt in front of goal at times this season. Tottenham also play with a back-three system giving their wing-backs the freedom to advance into some of the most dangerous positions on the pitch.

Pedro Porro comes in with a great price-tag of £4.8m. This means he can help enable funds elsewhere within the squad. Porro is starting to find his feet at Spurs. In his last six matches he has managed to bank returns in three. Those returns consisted of one clean sheet, an assist and a goal proving he has more than clean sheet potential in his locker.

Midfielders – Mohamed Salah

Liverpool face a team conceding some concerning defensive stats as of late. In the last six Gameweeks amongst all teams Nottingham Forest rank the worst for goals conceded (16) and the fourth worst for shots in the box conceded (40). Because of this the promoted side have a target on their back.

The best way into the Liverpool frontline is Mohamed Salah (£12.8m). The Egyptian has picked up returns in four of his last six matches. In that same period amongst all players in the league he also sits joint third for attempts on goal (22), joint second for shots in the box (20) and joint second for big chances total (seven). With this in mind Salah could be considered an essential amongst the top picks for Gameweek 32.

Gabriel Martinelli

Arsenal sit top of the league and they are fully deserving of that. Their frontline has been detrimental to their success this season. In the last six Gameweeks they rank the best for goals scored (21), second best for attempts on goal (108) and first for shots in the box (73).

Investing in the relentless Arsenal attack is key this week. In the last six Gameweeks only one player has had more big chances than Gabriel Martinelli (seven). The Brazilian is in fine form. A good example of that form is the fact that he has managed five returns in his last six matches including two double-digit hauls.

Bukayo Saka

Arsenal’s consistent frontline indicates it could be wise to double up on their attacking options. They face a Southampton side that have conceded between two and four goals in half of their last six matches against Brentford, Manchester City and Tottenham. This shows that the Saints have the potential to crumble against strong offensive lines.

It could be extremely difficult to go without Bukayo Saka (£8.6m) this week. Arsenal’s talisman is having a fantastic season scoring 12 goals and creating 10 assists showing multiple routes to points. If that wasn’t enough Saka also takes his teams penalties. This gives him even more potential as an asset. Taking everything into account, Bukayo Saka eases his way into the top picks for Gameweek 32.

Jarrod Bowen

West Ham may be struggling but they face one of if not the worst defence in the league this week, Bournemouth. Amongst all teams in the league this season the Cherries rank the worst for goals conceded (57), the worst for shots in the box conceded (326) and the second for shots on target conceded (157).

Finding a way into the West Ham attack could be key this week and who better than Jarrod Bowen (£8m). The winger has picked up returns in half of his last six matches indicating an uptake in his form and output. In fact in his last five matches in all competitions Bowen has bagged two goals and two assists. With a fixture against the worst defence in the league up next, Jarrod Bowen could be an interesting selection amongst the top picks for Gameweek 32.

Michael Olise

Crystal Palace rank second on the fixture ticker this week. They face Everton who this campaign amongst all teams sit as second worst for shots in the box conceded (322), second for total attempts conceded (461) and joint third worst for shots on target (149). This highlights the Toffees as a team to target.

Since Roy Hodgson took over Crystal Palace there has been big improvements. In fact, during his takeover Crystal Palace rank third for goals scored (seven), first for goals scored in the box (five) and joint third for shots in the box (34). The standout option in the frontline is Michael Olise (£5.5m). He ranks ahead of all of his offensive teammates for non-penalty expected goal involvement this season (6.90) excluding Wilfried Zaha (6.90).

Forwards – Gabriel Jesus

Whilst Arsenal continue their challenge for the title, their midfielders have been absolutely key to the threat they have. However, the focal point to their attack has now returned. Gabriel Jesus (£8.1m) has been out of action for some time due to injury, but that hasn’t showed in his performances.

Gabriel Jesus has started the last two matches for Arsenal and he has managed to pick up a huge 19 points from them. His points consisted of three goals and three bonus points. Since his starts no player in the league has had more big chances (five). Because of this and his quick return to form after injury, Gabriel Jesus takes his place amongst the top picks for Gameweek 32.

Harry Kane

Tottenham may be inconsistent but this season they sit amongst the best scoring teams in the league. They face a tough game against Newcastle this week but one player continues to find a way to return points in FPL, Harry Kane (£11.7m).

Not only is Harry Kane the focal point to the offensive line but he also takes his teams penalties. The record breaking striker also sits as the second highest scoring player in the game, reflecting his relentless consistency. Amongst all players in the league this season Kane also ranks second for goals scored (23), first for attempts on goal (106) and second for shots in the box (82).

Ollie Watkins

Aston Villa face Brentford in Gameweek 32. Brentford have had a great season overall but one of the factors that do back a Aston Villa attacker is the fact that they have conceded more shots on target than any other team in the league this season (161).

With more of a focus on the Aston Villa attacking line, amongst all teams in the last six Gameweeks they rank joint third best for goals scored (13) and third for big chances total (18). One player who could have huge potential is focal point and penalty taker Ollie Watkins (£7.6m). The striker has bagged an incredible nine returns in his last 10 matches, making him one of the most-in-form players in the league. Because of all of this, Watkins is an easy addition to the top picks for Gameweek 32.
