FPL GW10: Player Vs Opposition

Last modified date

This looks at the next opponent of Fantasy Premier League’s (FPL) top players, assessing whether they have a good or bad record against them. Of course, it’s just for fun and doesn’t take into account factors such as the player moving clubs. A lot can change in the years since Striker A scored a hat-trick against Team B. However, if a player enjoys playing at a certain ground against a particular centre back, that could be useful information for the FPL community.

(NB. Premier League matches only. Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t included because his 2003-09 appearances were too long ago to be relevant)

THE GOOD

Richarlison vs Wolves

8.98 POINTS-PER-90-MINS: 6 matches, 5 goals, 0 assists

Jamie Vardy vs Arsenal

7.87 POINTS-PER-90-MINS: 13 matches, 11 goals, 1 assist

If Vardy can overcome the injury which prompted his half-time withdrawal at Brentford, his 1.3 million new managers from Gameweek 9 will be optimistic of goals against one of his favourite opponents.

Raul Jimenez vs Everton

7.30 POINTS-PER-90-MINS: 4 matches, 4 goals, 0 assists

The Wolves striker missed both of last season’s meeting due to injury but has scored in each of his four outings against Everton.

Kevin De Bruyne vs Crystal Palace

7.13 POINTS-PER-90-MINS: 11 matches, 2 goals, 7 assists

Mohamed Salah vs Brighton

6.75 POINTS-PER-90-MINS: 8 matches, 5 goals, 4 assists

Because there weren’t enough reasons to captain Salah!

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang vs Leicester

6.30 POINTS-PER-90-MINS: 7 matches, 4 goals, 0 assists

Michail Antonio vs Aston Villa

6.28 POINTS-PER-90-MINS: 5 matches, 1 goal, 3 assists

THE BAD

Danny Ings vs West Ham

2.08 POINTS-PER-90-MINS: 9 matches, 0 goals, 0 assists

Remarkably, Ings has never scored a goal against West Ham from his time at Liverpool and Southampton.

Jack Grealish vs Crystal Palace

2.18 POINTS-PER-90-MINS: 6 matches, 0 goals, 0 assists

Wilfried Zaha v Man City

2.69 POINTS-PER-90-MINS: 12 matches, 0 goals, 2 assists

Sadio Mane vs Brighton

2.80 POINTS-PER-90-MINS: 6 matches, 0 goals, 0 assists

Even more remarkable is Sadio Mane’s complete lack of goal involvement against the Seagulls.

Joshua King vs Southampton

3.17 POINTS-PER-90-MINS: 11 matches, 1 goal, 0 assists

One week after topping ‘The Good’ for his form against Everton, King has the opposite problem when facing Southampton.

THE AVERAGE

Roberto Firmino vs Brighton

3.98 POINTS-PER-90-MINS: 8 matches, 2 goals, 1 assist

Harry Kane vs Man United

4.11 POINTS-PER-90-MINS: 14 matches, 4 goals, 2 assists

Callum Wilson vs Chelsea

4.87 POINTS-PER-90-MINS: 5 matches, 1 goal, 1 assist
