FPL Gossip 8th February: Salah could play in Gameweek 24
A look at the latest rumours and bits of gossip that are getting the FPL community talking.
Salah could play on Thursday
After playing 120 minutes of football four times over the past two weeks, it was assumed that Mohamed Salah would be rested upon his return to Liverpool from African Cup of Nations duty. However, according to journalist Paul Joyce, Salah is “eager to play” against Leicester on Thursday. This could complicate plans for FPL managers planning to go without Salah for at least one Gameweek, as the fear of missing out could sway their decision.
Burnley v Leicester could provide a Double Gameweek 27
Leicester’s FA Cup elimination to Nottingham Forest opens up a strong opportunity for them to begin their four games-in-hand, which was looking difficult to place considering their midweek European commitments. As both teams are out of the cup, Ben Crellin expects Burnley v Leicester to move into the midweek between Gameweeks 27 and 28, alongside the FA Cup Fifth Round matches. This would provide a Double Gameweek for Burnley, although Leicester would still just play once as the EFL Cup final robs them of a weekend match.
