FPL Gameweek 6 Review

Gameweek 6 brought another 46 points, with a -4 points hit for another red arrow and a week below the average. Clean sheets from McCarthy and Justin saved a poor Saturday, with just a Phil Foden goal and a captain blank.

The hit failed to come off, with Jimenez and Dier returning a goal and a clean sheet, but replacements Kane and Struijk only managing a single assist and five points between them. The transfer was perhaps rushed, but it’s pleasing to have Harry Kane in the side going forward.

This week could present a rare opportunity to bank a transfer: I’m very content with my premium players right now and Phil Foden provides useful Manchester City cover.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s time is on the edge, with a desire to upgrade Davis to a playing third striker and have the flexibility to bench Soucek some weeks. This move requires two transfers though, and so it seems unnecessary tinkering going into this weekend. Captain options are between Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min and Mohammed Salah. Two of this trio have penalties, but it is Son who is the consistent scorer and has the more favourable fixture of the two midfielders, so it’s he who will look to get the nod here. At the time of writing, the team is ranked at 2,189,168 with 319 points. All chips are available. Team value lies at £100.6 million, with £0.2 million in the bank.
