FPL Gameweek 2 Preview: Community XI

FPL Gameweek 2 Preview

After an eventful opening weekend, it’s time to reflect in order to prepare in the FPL Gameweek 2 Preview.

As always, this FPL Gameweek 2 Preview is packed with graphics, tweets, articles, podcasts and video content.

I. Ted

Fixtures always have a significant influence on our transfer plans. Ted Talks FPL brings the sides with the best schedules over the next six games for the FPL Gameweek 2 preview, and top of the list it’s Everton, following their impressive win on opening weekend. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been a very popular transfer in.

II. FanShow

On the FPL Fan Show, it’s transfers which dominate the conversation, as the duo hone in on the best Everton asset to go for. However, there’s also a number of other names who have caught the eye and Manchester United players on the agenda too. Should you select Bruno Fernandes or Anthony Martial?

III. Campbell

Tom Campbell retuned to Twitter last weekend with his highly popular Match Of The Day musings and observations. There were plenty of notable performances on Saturday, with Mo Salah stealing most of the headlines with his hat-trick. Leeds United assets are also on the radar, having managed to net three past an unusually shaky Liverpool defence.

IV. Cheaters

With six games of information, Always Cheating discuss all things FPL Gameweek 2 preview in the latest episode of their podcast. Their planned transfers ahead of the weekend dominate the conversation, with a need to jump on Manchester City and United assets. There’s also a nod to the captaincy debate early doors.

V. Dinnery

One worrying flag on the fantasy website comes against Timo Werner who picked up a dead leg during the opening phase of Chelsea’s fixture against Brighton. He did manage to complete the whole game, which could be a promising indicator of his availability against Liverpool. Now certainly isn’t the time to sell following his lively performance on Monday.

VI. WGTA

Penalties were key in Gameweek 1 for Mo Salah and Jamie Vardy in particular. Could it be part of a new emerging trend this season? On the latest episode of the Who Got The Assist? podcast it’s the key topic of conversation and will be a must-listen episode before making your transfers for the FPL Gameweek 2 preview.

VII. Paxman

One way of navigating the blank with a rush to jump on board performing assets could be to play an early wildcard. It’s a strategy being adopted by Josh, who plans to activate his wildcard ahead of Gameweek 2. There’s some interesting thoughts here, but obviously it might not be the optimal thing to do for your own team.

VIII. Scout

Jamie Vardy stole plenty of headlines last weekend and although his underlying statistics were unimpressive, he certainly justified his price tag. He’s the type of player who doesn’t need a lot of opportunities to deliver and he’s providing plenty of headaches given the promising run of upcoming fixtures for Leicester City.

IX. Rebant

Perhaps the most intriguing game of last weekend was Spurs against Everton, with the outcome of that game largely unpredicted. Rebant has delved into the statistics, to help inform fantasy managers of next steps for their Spurs assets. The fixtures might not be enough to justify their inclusion in our sides.

X. Planet

Finally, for many it was captaincy success or lack of which really defined those Gameweek 1 scores. Those who went with Mohammed Salah were afforded huge swings in their overall scores. A reflection on the events and longer term strategy provide an interesting debate on the latest Planet FPL People’s Poll.
