FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 37

Last modified date

We take a look at some of the FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 37. With the new round approaching, we check out what some of the most elite managers have been talking about in the build up to the latest round of Fantasy Premier League.

Looking at what some of the FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 37 are talking about could be highly beneficial to other managers. Whether they discuss expected minutes, potential transfer targets, chip strategy or other key factors, it can all help to provide clarity within our own teams.

@FPL_Harry

Fantasy Football content creator and experienced FPL manager Harry mentioned something that could affect the community moving forward. It was heavily rumoured amongst Chelsea fans that Frank Lampard’s reign could see goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga (£4.6m) dropped from the first team.

That day finally came as Kepa failed to start his Gameweek 36 match against Nottingham Forest. Many within the community could now be looking for a replacement, even with a double Gameweek approaching for Chelsea.

@Pras_fpl

Fantasy Football Scout contributor Pras highlighted one of the most important events in Gameweek 36. Newcastle came into the round with a double Gameweek so managers flocked to their assets. Not only were their players some of the most popular but they also stood out as some of the best captaincy options.

The first half of Newcastle’s Gameweeks saw full back Kieran Trippier (£6.1m) pick up just one point, striker Alexander Isak (£7m) bag five points and striker Callum Wilson (£7.1m) collect a huge 12 points. With one half of the round to go, it could be interesting to see their finished total. Either way, Gameweek 37 sees Newcastle take on a shaky Leicester so many will be looking to hold on to all of their assets.

@Cardiff_FPL

Fantasy Football content creator and experienced FPL manager Phil emphasised the recent performances of one player. Since Roy Hodgson has taken over as manager, Crystal Palace have made some significant improvements and that has benefited midfielder Eberechi Eze (£5.5m).

We can see from Phil’s tweet below that Eze has maintained some fantastic stats since Gameweek 29. The winger has amassed five returns in his last eight matches, including two double-digit hauls. He faces two promoted teams in the final Gameweeks and some could be looking to the in-form winger as a differential.

@FPLMarcin

Fantasy Football content creator Marcin brought up a very interesting player this week. Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes (£9.4m) became one of the most appealing assets for his double Gameweek in 34. The midfielder bagged 13 points in Gameweek 34 but since then has returned just once in his last three matches.

What is interesting is that Manchester United have another double in Gameweek 37. Because of this, those without Fernandes could be looking for a route to bring him in. The penalty taker faces two very fragile defensive units in Bournemouth and Chelsea next, so could have bags of potential.

@FPL_BlackWolf

Fantasy Football Scout contributor BlackWolf was one of many managers needing Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins (£7.4m) to repay the faith. The striker went through a period of the season where he bagged a whopping nine returns in 10 matches.

However, since his imperious FPL form, Watkins has picked up just one return in his last five games. He faces Liverpool and Brighton next and whilst he could have potential, owners will be heavily considering replacements for the remaining two rounds.
