FPL Double Gameweek announcement: 6 matches added to GW28 and GW29

Last modified date

One of the best things about being a Fantasy Premier League (FPL) manager is seeing a Double Gameweek announcement.

The Premier League have just confirmed that six previously-postponed matches have been rescheduled into Gameweeks 28 and 29 – creating a Double Gameweek for many sides.

Early FPL thoughts

With Newcastle playing twice in both Gameweeks 28 and 29 they will likely be a team that managers look to target. Players such as Allen Saint-Maximin and Chris Wood could be key targets in coming weeks.

Wolves have a Double Gameweek 26, play in Blank Gameweek 27 and double again in Gameweek 28. This will likely make their players even more popular ahead of the Gameweek 26 deadline as well as beyond.

Liverpool and Spurs‘ additional Double Gameweek’s will make them increasingly attractive to FPL managers. This announcement means investing in the likes of Mo Salah, Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min for Gameweek 26 will give managers the benefit of potentially 180 additional minutes of football.
