Double Gameweek announcement: 4 matches added to GW22

Last modified date

On Thursday morning, the Premier League have announced that four previously-postponed matches have been rearranged into Gameweek 22 – created a Double Gameweek for eight sides.

NEW GW22 ADDITIONS

Burnley v Watford (Tuesday 18th January, 19:30)

Brighton v Chelsea (Tuesday 18th January, 20:00)

Leicester v Tottenham (Wednesday 19th January, 19:30)

Brentford v Man United (Wednesday 19th January, 20:00)

The following eight teams have a Double Gameweek 22:

BRENTFORD vs Liverpool (a), Man United (H)

BRIGHTON vs Crystal Palace (H), Chelsea (H)

BURNLEY vs Leicester (H), Watford (H)

CHELSEA vs Man City (a), Brighton (a)

LEICESTER vs Burnley (a), Tottenham (H)

MAN UNITED vs Aston Villa (a), Brentford (a)

TOTTENHAM vs Arsenal (H), Leicester (a)

WATFORD vs Newcastle (a), Burnley (a)

With three more matches still to take place in Gameweek 21 (to be played next Tuesday and Wednesday), the Gameweek 22 deadline is not until 6:30pm on Friday 14th January.

Already popular assets like Emmanuel Dennis, Joshua King, David De Gea, Cristiano Ronaldo, Robert Sanchez and Son Heung-min will likely escalate in ownership, with names like Chris Wood and James Maddison likely to feature highly in transfers.

Players from Brentford and Chelsea feature twice but could be hindered by the unappealing fixtures. The injured Jamie Vardy will miss out on the purchases, although Harry Kane and members of the Spurs defence will tempt many.

The Premier League do add a caveat, however: “Should any of these teams’ FA Cup third-round matches this weekend be postponed, their [second DGW22] fixture will be affected.”
