Community Team Reveal Gameweek 7 – Marc Jobling FPL

Last modified date

Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.

Ahead of Gameweek 7, it’s the turn of Marc Jobling to tell us what he is doing to his team.

Hi Marc and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Gameweek 6 go?

It’s been a much stronger season for me so far but Gameweek 6 was a poor week. Looking at effective ownerships (EO) around me, I didn’t think there was anything to fear but Kieran Trippier, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Ivan Toney caused some damage.

The only goal came from Erling Haaland, where I at least got the captaincy call correct, with no clean sheets but assists from Pascal Gross and Neco Williams. 41 points and a drop from 27,000 to 59,300.

What does your defence look like?

Well, I planned to use these two free transfers on getting a third forward, so a Wildcard wouldn’t need to be so imminent. The only defender I want to buy is Trippier but having Gameweek 8 coverage of Newcastle’s defence may need to be via Nick Pope, to replace Brighton’s Robert Sanchez – now without a match.

Currently still with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Reece James but wouldn’t mind mass abandonment.

Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?

The downgrade to enable Mitrovic’s arrival would move out Luis Diaz. Originally for Wilfried Zaha, the postponement of Eagles versus Seagulls can now be a short-term punt. Perhaps Marcus Rashford or even Luis Sinisterra.

A three-man forward line of Haaland, Mitrovic and Gabriel Jesus feels strong, although in all honestly I’d like to be without the latter. However, his ownership is eye-watering high.

So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 7 and beyond?

I believe my two transfers will bring in Rashford and Mitrovic for Diaz and Archer. Having these makes me reluctant to immediately use a Wildcard afterwards but FPL requires flexibility, so let’s see what happens.

I still have faith in Mohamed Salah but am eyeing differentials like Harvey Barnes, Raheem Sterling and Allan Saint-Maximin.

Finally, what about captaincy?

The perceptions of Haaland and Salah are completely opposite right now, so I think it has to be the Norwegian by default.

Good luck and thank you for the team reveal!
