Community Team Reveal Gameweek 38 – BlackWolf
Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.
Ahead of Gameweek 38 it’s the turn of BlackWolf to tell us what he is doing to his team.
Hi BlackWolf and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Double Gameweek 37 go?
After a four-point hit, I managed to get 71 points and a small green arrow up to 86k but it was disappointing overall. I was hoping to see a much higher jump, in preparation for the chaos that Gameweek 38 will surely bring.
It has been a poor season where I’ve been on the wrong end of many 50/50 decisions. For example, I was strongly debating captaining Bruno Fernandes over Erling Haaland and had Kieran Trippier starting over Trent Alexander-Arnold for most of the week, yet ultimately chose neither route. Still, a green is a green.
What does your defence look like?
I currently have David Raya in goal, just hoping he can rack up save points against Man City as I don’t feel a GK transfer is worth doing. In defence, I have Alexander-Arnold, Pervis Estupinan and Luke Shaw, with Trippier and Fabian Schar ready to step in if anyone misses out. I would also like to avoid using a transfer here, if possible.
Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?
My midfield currently consists of Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Mohamed Salah, Alexis Mac Allister and Kaoru Mitoma. Brighton have rotated a lot recently and have now secured their Europa League spot, so I may look to sell one of their midfield pair.
Up front, I have Haaland, Julian Alvarez and the bench fodder of Sam Greenwood. I will almost certainly be starting all five midfielders this week.
So what is your transfer plan for Gameweek 38?
Gameweek 38 will likely be chaotic and full of rotations. With all games kicking off simultaneously, I will likely be looking for early team news that can be reacted to.
I only have one free transfer, so hope there’ll be enough starters to not warrant another four-point hit – I’d strongly like to avoid a final-week hit unless absolutely necessary. You’d only have a single match to gain back the lost points, so the risk of it not paying off is very high.
I don’t mind which 11 players start, as long as that number is reached. If we get no news, or I discover that at least ten other players are starting, I will likely use the transfer to move out either Mac Allister or Mitoma for Eberechi Eze, Dwight McNeil, or an Arsenal midfielder.
If Haaland doesn’t start, moving him to Harry Kane is also an option.
Finally, what about captaincy?
But a Haaland start will probably mean I captain him. Otherwise, it will either be Salah or new signing Kane with the armband, depending on how bad rotation is in the rest of my team. I don’t see myself captaining anyone outside of this trio.
