Community Team Reveal Gameweek 34 – FPL Inzaghi
Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.
Ahead of Gameweek 34, it’s the turn of FPL Inzaghi (Ryan) to tell us what he is doing to his team.
Hi Ryan and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Gameweek 33 go?
My third green arrow in a row saw me rise from 62k to 43k. I scored 76 points after deciding to roll my transfer ahead of the blockbuster Double Gameweek 34.
Jason Steele has been the hero I never wanted but feel like I deserve this season. He saved a penalty, earned a save point and collected all three bonuses on the way to his third double-digit score in five matches for me.
The rest of the squad is fairly template, with Harry Kane (11), Marcus Rashford (12) and captain Erling Haaland (28) all returning healthily. I’m optimistic about the end of this season and my sights are set firmly on the top 25k.
What does your defence look like?
It’s an area of significant weakness for me, as no defender has a double gameweek. Kieran Trippier and Fabian Schar host Southampton which is perfectly fine but I’m looking to drop one of the Arsenal guys for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
I am tempted to sell Ben Chilwell too but Chelsea soon play Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest before a Double Gameweek 37, whilst Arsenal have it tough against Newcastle and Brighton.
Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?
I’m targeting a strong midfield five to end this season. The last addition who will accompany Rashford, Kaoru Mitoma, Solly March and Bruno Fernandes is Mohamed Salah. This means selling Jack Grealish, which complicates funds for further transfers but, with Casemiro and Christian Eriksen in the team, Fernandes is back to the attacking beast we always hoped he’d be.
In my opinion, Grealish’s ceiling in this double is a lot lower than Bruno’s. There could be some rotation for the Man City attacker now that Phil Foden is returning to fitness and the Champions League semi-finals are coming. For that reason, I am looking to sell Grealish rather than Fernandes.
Up front, Haaland, Kane and Ollie Watkins have served me well but the band is about to break up, with only the lead singer remaining behind. Whilst Watkins will eventually become Alexander Isak – he could even make way this week if funds are needed – Kane is my cash cow that will enable the Salah move.
So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 34 and beyond?
With two free transfers, I’m looking at making three or four moves that will require a points hit. My moves aren’t completely locked in but I have a couple of options.
- Zinchenko, Grealish and Kane will become Salah, Alexander-Arnold and Greenwood (-4)
The issue here is that I’ll be playing three single gameweek players in Trippier, Schar and Watkins.
- Gabriel, Grealish, Kane and Watkins will become Salah, Alexander-Arnold, Jota and Solanke (-8)
As you can see, I’m still quite torn on my moves but Salah and Alexander-Arnold are locked in. How I’ll downgrade Kane to fund these moves is still unclear.
Finally, what about captaincy?
Previously, I’ve bet against Haaland (intentionally and unintentionally) this season and gotten burnt on every occasion. Not again! For me, Haaland is the captain.
Good luck and thank you for the team reveal!
No problem. I’ll update my team on Twitter and on my YouTube channel – give me a follow, I’d love to meet you and chat FPL!
