Community Team Reveal Gameweek 26 – Marc Jobling

Last modified date

Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.

Ahead of Gameweek 26, it’s the turn of Marc Jobling tell us what he is doing to his team.

Hi Marc and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Double Gameweek 25 go?

A horrific drop was softened by captain Mohamed Salah netting late into his second match, although the red arrow from 74k to 126k still undone several weeks of good work.

Everything was just awful. Bukayo Saka’s effective ownership (EO) meant I was devastated by the hauls of him, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli. Additionally, Benoit Badiashile’s absence meant I only had eight players take part. To end on 72 points was disappointing.

What does your defence look like?

As I have many players to get rid of and the schedule of Blanks and Double has become clearer, I’m activating the Wildcard chip. Finally, I get to sell Eddie Nketiah, Nathan Patterson and Badiashile.

The back seven is what I’m finding tough to settle on, thanks to the Bench Boost 29 plan. For protection, I want Kepa Arrizabalaga but am weighing up the pros and cons of rotating him with David Raya, Robert Sanchez and Alphonse Areola.

That’s because Gabriel and Kieran Trippier are locked in and there’s only space for one Brighton or Brentford defender alongside them in Double Gameweek 27’s starting XI. The other team’s goalkeeper will go with Kepa.

Cheap defenders like Tyrone Mings and Joe Worrall will help out during Blank Gameweek 28 and Bench Boost 29. Luke Shaw is to be bought after his blank.

Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?

In a world where not many players hold appeal in these positions, I’m fairly set on my front eight. Double Arsenal midfielders, with Saka joined by Odegaard’s high EO (head) or Martinelli (heart).

Marcus Rashford, Erling Haaland and Harry Kane were never in doubt, so that leaves space for a Brighton midfielder like Kaoru Mitoma or Alexis Mac Allister. Up front, Ivan Toney has great short-term fixtures, with differential James Maddison completing the midfield.

Looking around, who have I left out? It’s only really Salah, Man City’s rotation risks and five-in-five Ollie Watkins.

So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 26 and beyond?

Should things go to plan, I’ll roll next week’s free transfer and have two either for Blank Gameweek 28 or during the international break that precedes Double Gameweek 29’s Bench Boost.

I want no more than one planned in advance, which is currently going on Shaw.

Finally, what about captaincy?

Of course, I’ve spent no time thinking about the armband. Do I go against Haaland’s high EO? It’s very hard to ignore Saka being at home to Bournemouth.

Good luck and thank you for the team reveal!
