Community Team Reveal Gameweek 24 – BlackWolf

Last modified date

Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.

Ahead of Gameweek 24 it’s the turn of BlackWolf to tell us what he is doing to his team.

Hi BlackWolf and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Gameweek 23 go?

It was an average week, with a small red arrow to 170k. The main reason for the drop was placing Luke Shaw first on my bench, deciding to instead play Ben White and Nathan Ake due to their double gameweeks.

However, each started only one game of the two and finished on three points – nine fewer than Shaw! I also don’t own Kevin De Bruyne, who is highly owned and scored 15 points. I opted for Riyad Mahrez instead, who finished narrowly behind on 14, but the optimal play was to own both.

What does your defence look like?

I currently have Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal, with Shaw, Ake and White joined by Kieran Trippier and Hugo Bueno. For Gameweek 24, I’d like to play three at the back, so have a benching headache.

Of the five, I’m certain to start with Shaw and Trippier. That leaves me with a decision to play either Bueno (BOU), White (avl), or Ake (nfo), where all three are rotation risks. I am currently leaning towards taking a Bueno punt, thinking he might get the nod ahead of Rayan Ait-Nouri this time.

It just feels inevitable that both myself and many other managers will have our top scoring defender sat on this week’s bench.

Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?

My starting midfield currently consists of Mahrez, Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard, with Aleksandar Mitrovic, Harry Kane and Erling Haaland up front.

Mitrovic is the only player I’d be tempted to remove, given the fixtures, but I’m most likely going to hold because Fulham have a fixture in Blank Gameweek 25.

So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 24 and beyond?

With next week’s blank in mind, my current plan is to navigate it without using a chip. Therefore, I think it’s best that I roll this free transfer and save two for it.

I can use those transfers to replace non-playing assets with those that play twice. A four-point hit is also possible.

Finally, what about captaincy?

Manchester City are away to Nottingham Forest, so Haaland will almost certainly be my captain. Given the return of the Champions League, I’m slightly concerned about his minutes but not putting the armband on such a tasty fixture is a risk I don’t think I am willing to take.

If I were more of a risk taker, I’d captain Rashford at home to Leicester.

Good luck and thank you for the team reveal!
