Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 33 expert picks and team

Last modified date

With a new round ahead, we look at the latest edition of Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 33 expert picks and team thoughts. @FPLGunnersaurus (Jay) joins us to give his top picks for the Matchday ahead. In addition, he also shares his squad going into the new round with his general thoughts.

Twitter is full of the most experienced fantasy football players around. Those managers can be some of the best people to look to when trying to gain clarity when making their own decisions within their teams. Checking out the Matchday 33 expert picks and team can help for the round ahead.

Top targets – Defenders – Jeremie Frimpong (14.3m / 69% owned / Bayer 04 Leverkusen)

It has been a while since the flying Dutchman returned a big fantasy haul but it’s only a matter of time right? Leverkusen will be searching for a statement win over Gladbach to ensure they finish in a European qualification spot. With four monster hauls of 24 points or above this season, can Frimpong deliver another?

Raphaël Guerreiro (14.4m / 48% owned / Borussia Dortmund)

Caveat this pick with a giant asterisk assuming he comes back into the starting XI. Rapha leads the Bundesliga assist charts with 12 assists so far this season and should be hungry to cement his top spot there. Should he start for Die Schwarzgelben in Augsburg he’s an essential pick and with his popularity having been on the decline could be a differential where you rank.

Mitchell Weiser (5.7m / 33% owned / SV Werder Bremen)

One last home outing for the game’s best budget defender. Opponents Köln have been impressive lately but I can see Weiser notching an attacking return and winning a lot of duels at the back, even though Bremen may not keep a clean sheet. His two biggest fantasy scores this season have both been at home (28 points and 19 points).

Midfielders – Jude Bellingham (17.9m / 76% owned / Borussia Dortmund)

My MUST HAVE pick for a second week running. Simply in irresistible form after a fourth double-digit fantasy return in a row, Bellingham is now the highest scoring fantasy player. With four goals in his last four games the English star will be hungry for more to keep the pressure on league leaders Bayern Munich.

Vincenzo Grifo (18.3m / 35% owned / Sport-Club Freiburg)

Grifo comes into MD33 with a goal and an assist to his name last time out, despite a 4-2 loss away to Union Berlin. Freiburg are just about in the hunt for UCL qualification still and the Black Forest club’s leading scorer will hope he can work his magic against Wolfsburg who were thrashed 6-0 in their last away game.

Florian Kainz (11.5m / 33% owned / 1. FC Köln)

Originally I was going to give this spot to another Florian but due to concerns over his minutes it’s Kainz who gets the nod again this Matchday. He averages 12 points a game in his last four (with 27 over those points coming from two away games) and Köln travel to a Werder Bremen side who have lost their last four home games.

Forwards – Sébastien Haller (14.8m / 4% owned / Borussia Dortmund)

Coolbird Seb Haller showed exactly why Dortmund signed him last summer in their 5-2 romp over Gladbach. Two goals in that game takes him to three goals and two assists in his last three games. Up next it’s Augsburg away on Sunday who boast the worst overall xGA record in the league (1.88xGA). The striker is an easy addition into my Matchday 33 expert picks.

Randal Kolo Muani (15.6m / 43% owned / Eintracht Frankfurt)

The French international forward has returned 14 double-digit fantasy returns this season and after a 3-0 home win over Mainz, where Muani racked up 15 points, there is hope Die Adler can end the season on a high. It’s a relegation threatened Schalke away up next who could leave lots of room open at the back whilst they search for a vital victory.

Dodi Lukébakio (9.4m / 2% owned / Hertha BSC)

The Belgian and his capital city club host Bochum in a real relegation six pointer. Anything else but a win would surely sink Hertha down to the Zweite Bundesliga. Lukébakio is in good home form, with 22 points across his last two games featuring one goal and one assist.
