Best three under the radar picks for Gameweek 24

Last modified date

We take a look through the best three under the radar picks for Gameweek 24. Using the help of the fixture ticker and underlying stats from Fantasy Football Scout we can find some of the best lesser picked players in FPL for the new round ahead.

Looking at the best three under the radar picks for Gameweek 24 in FPL could be really beneficial to managers. Picking lesser selected players in the game can help gain rank or an edge over mini-league rivals so it’s always important to consider them.

Joao Felix

Chelsea are visibly improving although results haven’t exactly gone the way they would have hoped. Their recent progression in terms of offensive stats also reinforces that. They rank amongst the best six teams in the league for attempts on goal (85), attempts in the box (62) and big chances total (17).

The Blues face a struggling Southampton in Gameweek 24. The Saints have lost five of their last six matches in all competitions whilst also failing to keep a clean sheet. In addition, amongst all teams this season they rank the second worst for goals conceded (40), highlighting them as a team to target.

Trying to find a nailed and effective Chelsea attacker has been difficult over the last several seasons. However, Joao Felix (£7.6m) could be the standout pick at Chelsea. The striker impressed in the matches he has played, picking up a nine-point return in Gameweek 23. Felix is getting into plenty of great positions and against a poor Southampton could have huge potential.

Pervis Estupiñán

Brighton’s offensive stats are becoming increasingly progressive this season but their defensive stats have taken a dip because of it. Although that is the case they have still shown capabilities at the back, keeping two clean sheets in their last six games.

Bournemouth lay ahead for Brighton. The Cherries have been one of the poorest teams going forward in the league. In fact, in the last six matches they rank the second worst for goals scored (two), second worst for attempts on goal (59), joint worst for big chances total (six) and joint second worst for shots on target (17).

Due to Bournemouth’s weak offensive data it could be worth investing in the Brighton backline and even more so when considering they have a double Gameweek coming up. In the last six matches Pervis Estupiñán (£4.7m) ranks ahead of his defensive teammates for expected goal involvement (0.71). The full back has also picked up a huge three assists in his last four matches, reflecting great attacking threat.

Jarrod Bowen

West Ham have really struggled to string together consistency this season. However, their latest turn in form could mean things are on the up. Remaining unbeaten in their last three matches, whilst playing Chelsea and Newcastle, the Hammers could be worth investment.

One player who could be worth the risk is Jarrod Bowen (£8m). The midfielder faces a Tottenham side who rank the worst team for goals conceded (12), the worst for shots conceded (102) and the second worst for shots on target conceded (35). Bowen has bagged two returns in his last three matches, including a double-digit haul. In form and against a defensively fragile opponent, Bowen could be a great under the radar pick.
