Best single Gameweek 37 players
Whilst many managers flock to players with two matches, we take a look through some of the best single Gameweek 37 players. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout members area and its fantastic tools, we can highlight some of the players for the round ahead with just one game.
Looking at the best single Gameweek 37 players can be really beneficial for managers. Sometimes double Gameweeks can distract managers away from single Gameweek players with huge potential. Picking single Gameweek players in a double can also help differentiate from our rivals which in turn could aid in gaining rank.
Fixtures
Trent Alexander-Arnold
Liverpool may not have a double Gameweek but they sit near the top of the fixture ticker this week with a game against Aston Villa. The visitors were in a strong run of form but in their last three matches, they failed to score in two of them, suggesting they could be in the middle of an offensive blip.
Backing a Liverpool defender this season would have been very questionable for most the campaign. However, Trent Alexander-Arnold is in an imperious run of form. The full back edges every other defender in the last six for non-penalty expected goal involvement (3.03). In addition, to highlight his form, Trent has incredibly banked a return in nine of his last 10 league matches.
Mohamed Salah
Another Liverpool player makes the cut this week. The Reds have been in a fantastic run, winning all seven of their last matches, scoring 20 in the same period and averaging just under three goals scored per game. This suggests that backing a Liverpool attacker could be hugely beneficial.
The standout option is Mohamed Salah (£13.1m). Amongst all players in the last six Gameweeks the Egyptian ranks second for non-penalty expected goal involvement (4.86). Salah has also collected a brilliant four double-digit returns in his last seven matches, highlighting his explosiveness.
Martin Ødegaard
Arsenal have been fantastic this season so far. They sit second in the Premier League and they have a great chance to claim another victory in the round ahead. They face relegation battlers Nottingham Forest in Gameweek 37.
One of Arsenal’s biggest contributors this season has been Martin Ødegaard (£6.8m). The Norwegian has been instrumental in his sides chase for top spot. In fact, this campaign the midfielder has racked up an impressive 15 goals and seven assists. In terms of recent form, Ødegaard has bagged three double-digit hauls in his last six Gameweeks.
Gabriel Jesus
Staying with Arsenal, their opponents have been conceding some awful defensive stats as of late. Amongst all teams in the last six Gameweeks they rank joint worst for clean sheets (zero), second worst for shots in the box conceded (75), second worst for shots on target conceded (38) and second worst for big chances conceded (23).
To further the view that Nottingham Forest are a team to target, they have also managed to ship two or more goals in all of their last six league games. Another player who could take advantage of that is Gabriel Jesus (£8.1m) who is the focal point to the impressive Arsenal offensive line.
