Best players for Gameweek 31
We take a look at some of the best players for Gameweek 31 based on their records against their upcoming opponents. Using previous head-to-head records and underlying stats from the Fantasy Football Scout members area to help us pick out some great FPL picks for the round ahead.
Picking out the best players for Gameweek 31 could be helpful in making both transfer and captaincy decisions. The more information FPL managers have the better our decisions tend to be in terms of having successful assets in our fantasy teams.
Harry Kane v Bournemouth
Tottenham come into Gameweek 31 in inconsistent form. They face a Bournemouth side who have conceded more goals than any other side in the league this season. One player who could take advantage of that is Harry Kane (€11.7m).
Kane has been relentless this season and sits second amongst all players in FPL for points. His record is brilliant against promoted sides. As we can see in his last 18 matches against them prior to this season Kane returned in a whopping 14 of them. His points consisted of 14 goals and three assists.
Son Heung-min
It has been a really tough season for Tottenham’s Son Heung-min (£11.6m). The midfielder joint-claimed the Golden Boot last campaign which helped him rack up more than 200 points in FPL. Unfortunately Son has failed to continue that top form this season.
However, Son has collected three returns in his last four matches which could signal an uptake in his output. He could have great potential against Bournemouth in the round ahead especially when considering his record against promoted teams. In his last 18 games against them prior to this season Son has returned in 14 of them.
Bruno Fernandes v Nottingham Forest
Manchester United will be hoping to close the gap on Arsenal and Manchester City this week. They face Nottingham Forest in Gameweek 31. Although Bruno Fernandes (£9.6m) has been playing a deeper role, the return of Christian Eriksen could change that.
The Portuguese midfielder has a great record against promoted teams. As we can see in the eight games he has played against them prior to this season Bruno has picked up a return in six of them. His points consist of three double-digit hauls, five goals and four assists.
Mohamed Salah v Leeds
Liverpool will be looking for their first win since Gameweek 26 this week. The Reds play against a struggling Leeds in Gameweek 31. Main man Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) could be one of the best options for the round ahead.
Salah has banked four returns in his last six matches. The Egyptian also has a very short but strong record against Leeds prior to this season. In the four matches he has played against them he has managed a whopping 47 points. Salah’s points consisted of six goals and one assist.
Trent Alexander-Arnold
Staying with Liverpool and the success they have had over Leeds recently we head into their defence. Liverpool may seem unstable at the back but they still rank amongst the best teams in the league for clean sheets kept.
Full-back Trent-Alexander Arnold offers a lot more than clean sheet potential. As we can see he has a solid record against Leeds. In the four matches he has faced against them Trent has picked up a return in three of them. His points come from two clean sheets, two assists and six bonus points.
