Best players against their Gameweek 22 opposition

Last modified date

We take a look at some of the best players against their Gameweek 22 opposition. Using previous head-to-head records and underlying stats from the Fantasy Football Scout members area to help us pick out some great FPL picks for the round ahead.

Picking out the best players against their Gameweek 22 opposition could be helpful in making both transfer and captaincy decisions. The more information FPL managers have the better our decisions tend to be in terms of having successful assets in our fantasy teams.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin v Arsenal

Everton are under the spotlight with their manager change from Frank Lampard to Sean Dyche. The Toffee’s will be hoping change their fortune and fast but they face league leaders Arsenal in the round ahead.

One player who seems to have a solid record against Arsenal is Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.9m). The striker has bagged five returns in the 10 match period below. With only one return in FPL this season, could his fortune change?

Luke Shaw v Crystal Palace

Manchester United go into the round with a double Gameweek. One of their fixtures is against Crystal Palace. Many managers within the Fantasy Premier League community will be hoping for an uptake in form from Luke Shaw (£5.3m).

Manchester United have kept three clean sheets in their last six Premier League matches but owners have not had a return from Luke Shaw in his last three. Although that is the case, the left back has picked up five returns in the nine matches he has played against Crystal Palace in the graphic below.

Kai Havertz v Fulham

Chelsea have been very active during the transfer window and rightly so because their recent performances have been poor. They face a game against fellow London and newly promoted side Fulham in the round ahead.

Kai Havertz (£7.8m) has struggled in leading the Chelsea attack this season but has a good record against newly promoted sides. Before this season, in his last 11 matches against them, Kai Havertz has managed five returns including two double-digit hauls.

Bruno Fernandes v Leeds

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes (£9.9m) could be one of the most favoured assets in the community going into their double Gameweek. He has a fantastic record against Leeds. Before this season in the four matches he has played against them he has returned in three of them.

Bruno Fernandes’s 52 points include three double-digit hauls including a massive 20-point return. His points consist of six goals and two assists.

Andy Robertson v Wolves

It has been a turbulent season for Liverpool so far and they have failed to maintain any sort of consistency. Although that is the case defender Andy Robertson (£6.8m) has been picking up some returns as of late.

In the last six matches the Scotsman has bagged three returns. Andy Robertson’s potential could well be increased this week ahead of his game against Wolves. We can see below that against his upcoming opponents, before this season Robertson hit a whopping seven returns against Wolves in eight matches.
