Looking at the best player stats in Gameweek 19 can indicate which players did well. Even if the players who topped the stats didn’t return any points. This can be a good sign that the players were close to returning. FPL managers are always on the lookout for assets that could potentially return in the future. This could help with that.
James Ward-Prowse
Southampton have been struggling for a while now and that can be reflected in their recent results. The Saints have lost their last six matches in a row, even with ok fixtures. One player who has been impressive is midfielder James Ward-Prowse (£6.2m).
Ahead of Gameweek 19, Ward-Prowse hit three consecutive returns in as many games. Amongst all players in the league the midfielder ranked first for crosses (14), first for successful crosses (five) and joint third for chances created (three). Although he put up some great stats, Ward-Prowse failed to translate them into FPL points and finished the round with just two points.
Trent Alexander-Arnold
Liverpool were in a great run of form prior to Gameweek 19. In fact, the Reds had won four matches in a row before their meeting against Brentford. Liverpool lost their match 3-1 but Trent Alexander Arnold (£7.3m) created some great stats.
Amongst all players in the league this week, Alexander Arnold ranks first for passes in the final third (27), second for crosses (13) and joint second for successful crosses (four). The defender was fantastic going forward and he got his reward as he picked up five points for his assist.
Harry Kane
Tottenham needed to react in Gameweek 19 after failing to win any of their last two matches since the restart. The away side did exactly that as they dismantled Crystal Palace in their 4-0 win. It was a quiet first half for Harry Kane (£11.6m) but he grew into the game.
Second half was underway and the striker impressed. Kane was fantastic and amongst all players in the league this week he ranks joint second for attempts on goal (four) and joint second for attempts in the box (two). Kane scored two goals, created one assist and picked up three bonus points, totalling a whopping 16 points in FPL.
Lucas Paqueta
West Ham continue their torrid form this season. The Hammers sit 17th in the Premier League and have really struggled to sustain any sort of consistency this campaign. We saw a thrilling 2-2 draw between Leeds and West Ham in Gameweek 19.
One player to stand out was Lucas Paqueta (£5.9m). Amongst all players in the league this week, the Brazilian ranks joint first for attempts on goal (five) and joint second for shots in the box (three). Paqueta earned a cool eight points after scoring whilst also picking up a bonus to top off a great week.
