Last modified date

We take a look at the best Liverpool picks in FPL. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout members area, we utilise its fixture ticker and underlying stats to determine which Liverpool players FPL managers should be targeting.

Looking at the best Liverpool picks in FPL could be really beneficial to FPL managers as we approach an exciting double Gameweek. Overviewing both their defensive and offensive options and finding out which players are worth selecting.

Fixtures

Below is the fixture ticker in difficulty order. The teams at the top have the best fixtures, all of the way down to the teams at the bottom with the worst fixtures. As we can see Liverpool rank first on the fixture ticker, meaning they have the easiest fixtures from now until the end of the season.

Liverpool have a double Gameweek ahead, play in blank Gameweek 32 and also have a double Gameweek in 34. The fixtures suggest Liverpool could be a great team to invest in moving forward.

The Liverpool attack

This season amongst all teams in the league Liverpool rank fourth for goals (47), third for total attempts on goal (424), second for shots in the box (307), second for big chances total (85) and second for shots on target (149).

More recently in the last six Gameweeks Liverpool rank third for goals scored (13), joint third for attempts on goal (88), second for shots in the box (65), second for big chances total (23) and second for shots on target (36).

The best Liverpool attackers

In the last six Gameweeks no player in the league has a better non-penalty expected goal involvement than Mohamed Salah (£12.8m). The Egyptian midfielder has banked a huge 49 points in the same period consisting of four goals and three assists. Not just that but Salah also takes his teams penalties, giving the standout Liverpool option an additional route to points.

Another option some could consider is Darwin Nunez (£8.8m). Amongst all strikers in the last six Gameweeks Nunez ranks joint third for attempts in the box (13). He also managed a 12-point haul in one of his most recent games. Nunez picked up a knock recently so monitoring news could be key to selecting him.

Cody Gakpo (£7.7m) is also a very good option. The Dutch midfielder has accumulated six big chances in the last six Gameweeks, which is only beaten by two other players in the league. Gakpo has also banked four goals in his last six Premier League matches.

The Liverpool defence

This season Liverpool rank amongst the best five teams for goals conceded (29), clean sheets kept (10), shots in the box conceded (191) and attempts from set plays conceded (65). However they also rank the joint second worst team in the league for big chances conceded (75).

More recently in the last six Gameweeks Liverpool rank the best for goals conceded (one), the best for clean sheets (five) and joint second best for shots on target conceded (12). The Reds also rank around mid-table for big chances conceded (12).

The best Liverpool defensive players

The standout option at the back for Liverpool is Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.3m). Not only does the full-back take corners and free-kicks but amongst defenders in the last six matches he ranks first for chances created (12) and first for big chances created (four).

The second best option could be Andrew Robertson (£6.8m). Robertson betters his teammate and every other defender in the league this season for assists (six). The Scotsman is also considerably cheaper than Trent. In addition, Robertson has also picked up four returns in his last five starts in the Premier League.
