Best Gameweek 3 fixtures

Last modified date

With Gameweek 2 now over FPL managers are tuning their attention to Gameweek 3. To help with these decisions we take a look at the teams with the best fixtures in Gameweek 3.

Fantasy Football Scout members have the opportunity to sort the Fixture Ticker by difficulty. This means that they are able to see how difficult the matches are over a range they have specified. Members are also able to sort the Fixture Ticker by defence and attack. You can sign up as a Fantasy Football Scout member here.

We have sorted the Fixture Ticker by difficulty and the four teams that sit top are Everton, Arsenal, Brentford and Leicester City.

Everton

Everton are top of the FFScout Fixture Ticker for Gameweek 3. They face newly promoted Nottingham Forest at home.

The Toffee’s are struggling with a number of important injuries to their squad. However, The arrival of Conor Coady on loan should strengthen their defence.

For FPL managers who are looking to play their Wildcard in Gameweek 4 or 5 investing in Everton for this fixture against Nottingham Forest and potentially holding for their Gameweek 4 fixture against Brentford could work well for FPL managers. The Toffee’s players would be real differentials if FPL managers can find a player who shows some form.

Arsenal

Arsenal are second on the Fixture Ticker for Gameweek 3. The had a hugely impressive pre-season as well as a good start to the 2022/23 season.

Over 70% of FPL managers are invested in Gabriel Jesus. However, the rest of the Arsenal squad are also proving popular. Martinelli is owned by over 26% of managers. Zinchenko by 25% of managers and Saka by over 21% of managers. Ramsdale and Odegaard are also both owned by more than 10% of managers.

Arsenal’s fixtures remain nice after their Gameweek 3 fixture against Bournemouth. Therefore they look to be good short term, as well as long term, investments.

Brentford

Brentford sit third on the Fixture Ticker for Gameweek 3. They travel to fellow London club Fulham.

All of the Brentford team are owned by under 10% of FPL managers. This makes them great differentials for FPL managers against Fulham.

Like Arsenal, Brentford also have fantastic fixtures after Gameweek 3. Therefore they make attractive long term investments for FPL managers. Ivan Toney had a great first season in the Premier League in 2021/22 and his form continued into the start of the new season.

At £7.0m he would be a great third forward for FPL managers.

Leicester

The Foxes have struggled in the opening weeks of the 2022/23 season, however they are fourth on the Fixture Ticker for Gameweek 3. Leicester host Southampton. The Saints have really struggled in their opening two matches of the season.

Goalkeeper Danny Ward is the most heavily owned goalie in FPL this season after the departure of Kasper Schmeichel. James Maddison and Jamie Vardy both returned in Gameweek 1 and therefore they are likely to be the go-to picks for FPL managers. However, budget enablers like Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall returned a double digit haul. Therefore if managers are concerned about investing too heavily in Leicester they could invest cheaply rather than changing their team structure or key players.
