Best double Gameweek 19 targets

Last modified date

Gameweek 18 is underway but it is only a matter of time before the new round arrives. For that reason, we take a look at some of the best double Gameweek 19 targets with the help of the Fantasy Football Scout members area.

Taking a look at the best double Gameweek 19 targets can be very beneficial to Fantasy Premier League managers as we approach the new round. The options below could help aid with key factors like transfers, captaincy and chip usage.

Who has a double Gameweek?

Chelsea and Fulham are the only teams that have a double Gameweek in Gameweek 19. For that reason, it could be wise to focus on assets from those two teams in FPL.

The double Gameweek fixtures

  • Leicester v Fulham
  • Chelsea v Man City
  • Fulham v Chelsea

Chelsea

The double Gameweek may not be as appealing as many would like for Chelsea as they face Fulham and Man City. However, regardless of opponent, double Gameweeks have huge potential for gaining rank and an edge over mini league rivals.

Defence

Chelsea did initially improve defensively when Graham Potter took over. The Blues kept five clean sheets on the bounce upon the new managers arrival but their recent slump prior to the World Cup was concerning. However, their recent 2-0 win over Bournemouth is a reminder that they can keep clean sheets.

Defensively, there has been some key injuries with the most significant being Reece James, The wing back has been ruled out for several weeks. This opens up an opportunity for another defender option to take his place.

Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga (£4.6m) should be considered by managers. The Spaniard has played a huge contributing role in the solidity at the back for Chelsea. Finding budget goalkeepers from the top teams can be difficult but Kepa offers exactly that. The Chelsea man bagged a nine-point return for his clean sheet and bonus points in Gameweek 17, reflecting his potential.

If Thiago Silva (£54.m) does not start against Nottingham Forest he could be the safest defender to select in terms of expected minutes. Another safe option could be Kalidou Koulibaly (£5.5m). Both defenders however, lack attacking threat.

The up and coming Lewis Hall (£4.5m) could pose some threat to left back Marc Cucurella’s (£5.2m) reliability of minutes so there is some risk there. However for fantasy managers looking for a higher ceiling of points, he could be an option along with right back Cesar Azpilicueta (£4.8m) who looks set to replace Reece James.

Attack

In attack, the Blues usually like to rotate. There are, however three potential options in midfield. Mason Mount (£7.6m) may be playing in a deeper position but he still proved a threat from set pieces and also scored from a long range shot in Gameweek 17.

Another option could be Raheem Sterling (£9.7m). The winger has been one of Chelsea’s most dangerous players this season. A third and more riskier option could be Christian Pulisic (£5.7m). The American has been in and out of the team but had a fantastic World Cup scoring one goal and creating two assists.

The standout forward option is Kai Havertz (£7.8m). After bagging two goals in his recent World Cup campaign, the German returned to the Premier League with a bang after securing a goal, assist and 12-point return in Gameweek 17.

Fulham

Fulham face Leicester and Chelsea, two teams that have shown defensive fragilities this season and two teams that have shown a bluntness in attack on occasions.

Defence

The Fulham defence is a concern because they have only kept four clean sheets in their 17 matches played so far. Centre back Tim Ream (£4.5m) could be the safest option. There may be a lack of offensive ability but Ream still scored in his most recent match against Crystal Palace.

Another option could be left back Antonee Robinson (£4.4m). The American picked up six attacking returns in his Championship campaign last season and spends a lot of time in the oppositions half. Although that is the case, Robinson has failed to return a goal contribution so far in the Premier League.

Attack

The standout option is of course Aleksander Mitrovic (£7m). The striker has already notched up 10 goals and one assist this season and has maintained some of the best offensive stats amongst all players in the league. Not only is Mitrovic one of the best options in Gameweek 19 but he could also be heavily considered for the captaincy armband.

It could be time for midfielder Andreas Pereira (£4.6m) to take his place within our starting line-ups. The midfielder has been one of the best budget enablers in the game this season. Pereira takes set pieces, penalties when Mitrovic isn’t on the field and has also collected six returns already this season.
