Best attacking options for the last five Gameweeks?

Last modified date

The Fantasy Football Scout fixture ticker is a fantastic resource for FPL managers when making their transfer plans. With just five Gameweeks to the end of the season we have taken a look at the top three teams on the ticker, to assess the best attacking options for the run-in.

The fixture ticker is an invaluable resource for FPL managers. Members of the Fantasy Football Scout website are able to sort the fixture ticker by difficulty, change the difficulty of matches and delete teams and Gameweeks.

The top of the fixture ticker currently looks like this:

Chelsea

The blues top for the fixture ticker for the run in. The London club have two Double Gameweeks still to play as well as three blue fixtures in the other Gameweeks of the season. This could make their assets some of the best attacking options for the run-in.

Mason Mount and Timo Werner look the most attractive options at Chelsea for the run in. Only three midfielders have secured more attacking returns than Mount over the course of the season.

He is also top across the Chelsea team for goals, assists, double digit hauls and attempts on goal. Meanwhile teammate Werner is top for goal attempts in the Chelsea team over the last six Gameweeks with 15. Forwards in the game have been difficult picks for FPL managers, however with back-to-back returns for Werner in Gameweeks 32 and 33 he looks like an attractive differential option.

Leicester

The Foxes sit second on the fixture ticker, however they do have a crowded fixture schedule for the run-in. Between Gameweeks 34 and 35 and again between 35 and 36 Leicester will play in the Europea Conference League Semi-final, should they progress to the final that will add another match to their loaded run-in.

The number of fixtures could be off putting for managers. Especially as Leicester will likely prioritise their European exploits as their best route back Into European football next season. However, depending on game management the Leicester options could still be some of the best attacking options for the final five Gameweeks.

Harvey Barnes and James Maddison continue to be the stand out picks from Leicester. Maddison and Barnes lead the way for attacking returns at Leicester this season with 16 and 12 respectively.

They are also first and second for non penalty expected goal involvement (NPxGI). Maddison is top for expected goals (xG), expected assist (xA) and expected goal involvement (xGI).

Tottenham

Unlike Leicester, Spurs’ full focus will be on finishing in the top four. This makes them an attractive option for FPL managers. The front three of Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min and Dejan Kulusevski all look like good buys, depending on FPL managers budgets and the structure of their teams. The three lead the way for attacking returns at Spurs this season, however Kulusevski has had significantly less game time as a result of only arriving in North London in January.

Since Gameweek 23 Spurs have scored 30 goals and since the turn of the year no Premier League club has scored more goals than them. 19 of these goals have been scored by the Spurs front three.

Kane is top for xA, xG and xGI since Gameweek 23. Son is second in all three categories with Kulusevski third. Opting for a combination of one or more of these Spurs options seems like a wise investment for the run in.
