Strong Fixtures

ASTON VILLA

A run of four consecutive defeats was halted by Saturday’s goalless draw at Leicester. It’s a classic end-of-season switch-off that we see every year, creating uncertainty over whether their assets can be trusted for a nice-looking home fixture against Norwich. Indeed, Philippe Coutinho has lost 1.5 million owners since Gameweek 30, dropping £0.5m in price. Midfielder Jacob Ramsey introduced himself to the FPL scene by scoring in December’s 2-0 win over the Canaries. His four goals since are more than the three of forward Ollie Watkins. Attacking right-back Matty Cash is the game’s ninth highest-scoring defender.

BURNLEY

The Clarets have hauled themselves out of the relegation zone with two back-to-back wins over Southampton and Wolves. When doing this in Double Gameweek 26, they were soon back to a run of defeats. Yet they’ll be confident of making it three this time, as they visit Watford – a side with ten consecutive home defeats. Wout Weghorst is slowly gaining FPL forgiveness, whilst defensive assets Nick Pope and Connor Roberts continue to deliver returns.

Weak Fixtures

NEWCASTLE

Many transfers were spent on Newcastle players heading into their two games of Double Gameweek 33. Martin Dubravka and Fabian Schar gained a clean sheet, although Chris Wood and Allan Saint-Maximin blanked. The true star has been Bruno Guimaraes, with his two goals followed by another at Norwich on Saturday. However, both Schar and Wood were rested at Carrow Road and fixtures immediately turn nasty for the Magpies. First up, Liverpool at home.

EVERTON

Jurgen Klopp’s side eventually overcame Everton in Sunday’s Merseyside derby but the Toffees looked more competent than in recent times. But they’ve dropped into the bottom three, two points behind Burnley. They may see Chelsea (H) as winnable but it will require an incredible performance from the likes of Richarlison, Anthony Gordon and Abdoulaye Doucoure.
