Who has the worst fixtures in GAFFR to start the season?

Last modified date

The new Championship season is edging closer so we take a look at who has the worst fixtures to start the season. Focusing on the first four fixtures of the teams we decide which of them could be worth avoiding for the new GAFFR campaign.

Looking at who has the worst fixtures in GAFFR to start the season with could be extremely useful for fantasy managers. It can give an indication of which teams to avoid which can also help with building our first squads, short term planning of transfers, chips and captaincy.

Coventry

Coventry not only turned their season around after a poor start but they made it all of the way to the play-offs in 22/23. They progressed to the final after beating Middlesbrough but Luton proved too difficult.

Although they failed to claim promotion Coventry became one of best teams to invest in last season. But, it could be tough to start the campaign with their assets because they face Leicester, Middlesbrough, Swansea and Sunderland in the first four games.

Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough also had a brilliant campaign after securing fourth place and thus the play-offs. Jamie Carrick’s side were one of the most consistent teams in the league with his wing-backs and star striker taking priority amongst GAFFR managers.

There is little chance that managers will be put off their assets. However, it could be a rough beginning to the campaign as they come against Millwall, Coventry, Huddersfield and West Brom in their first four matches.

Rotherham

It was a great first season for Rotherham after being promoted to the Championship. Not only did they survive but they ended up with a strong 50 points securing a 19th place finish. Rotherham had good budget assets last season.

Although their price-tags may catch the eye, they have some tough fixtures to start the season with. Their opposition include Stoke (away), Blackburn, Sunderland and Leicester. All four fixtures will pose different types of challenges but regardless, could be an easy avoid to start the campaign in GAFFR.

West Brom

West Brom were one of the favourites for promotion in the 22/23 campaign. They had the quality to achieve that. However, not only did they fail to reach the play-offs they only just made the top 10 after a disastrous first half of the season.

The Baggies have some great options but with their first four fixtures, they could be a solid avoid in terms of investment. West Brom face Blackburn, Swansea, Leeds and Middlesbrough. All teams could pose serious issues for the Baggies.
