Transfers and Gossip – Ruben Neves leaving Wolves?
David Ornstein has confirmed that Ruben Neves has completed a medical ahead of a transfer from Wolves to Al Hilal. He also stated that personal terms have been agreed. The 26-year-old is set to sign a three year contract.
The deal is worth a huge €55m. Ruben Neves predominantly plays in a central midfield role. He has been heavily linked with clubs around the world for a while now. The most important take away is that he has been a key player for some years at Wolves so could be a significant loss.
Is Edouard Mendy leaving Chelsea?
Fabrizio Romano confirms that Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has agreed personal terms with Al Ahli. The contract will be valid until June 2026 and the negotiations are at the final stages. This could either indicate Kepa Arrizabalaga takes the reigns or the Blues target another goalkeeper in the transfer window.
Centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly and midfielder Hakim Ziyech are also being linked with a move to the Saudi League. Chelsea look set for another big overhaul this summer. This could allow them the flexibility to bring more players to the club.
Gary O’Neil leaves Bournemouth
Fabrizio Romano confirms that Bournemouth have decided to part ways with head coach Gary O’Neil. O’Neil took over a struggling Bournemouth whom looked set for a relegation scrap. However, he managed to turn performances around and claim a 15th place finish.
There will be question marks over Bournemouth in the new campaign without O’Neil. Many FPL managers could be looking to target the Cherries early on in the season depending on their appointment.
Joselu joins Real Madrid
Fabrizio Romano announced Joselu’s deal to Real Madrid this week. The striker joins from fellow La Liga side Espanyol on loan for a €500k fee. He also states that the €1.5m buy option clause is not mandatory. This news comes shortly after legendary striker Karim Benzema confirmed he will leave the club.
Karim Benzema was a huge presence for Real Madrid and their are major doubts over if Joselu can sufficiently replace the Frenchman. Joselu managed to score 16 goals and produce two assists from 34 league matches last season. This move could interest UCL Fantasy managers moving forward who will be keenly monitoring his progress early on.
Joao Palhinha to West Ham?
As we can see, Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha is attracting some interest from West Ham. With news of the inevitable departure of Declan Rice the Hammers will be hoping Palhinha as his replacement after an excellent season in the Premier League for Fulham.
