Top 10 FPL points scorers 2022/23
The final balls of the 2022/23 season have been kicked and the final FPL points have been awarded. Now FPL managers can look back on the season to see what they can learn for the 2023/24 game. We look at the top 10 FPL points scorers 2022/23.
For FPL managers, looking at the top points scorers 2022/23 can give them a good insight in which players they could target next campaign. These players could also help to build a chip strategy and highlight captaincy options.
The top five
1. Erling Haaland
Manchester City’s Erling Haaland topped the points charts in 22/23 with a huge 272 points. The striker managed to rack up a whopping 36 goals and eight assists to help him towards his massive total. The Norwegian’s biggest points return came in one of his matches against Manchester United where he collected three goals and two assists in a 6-3 win.
2. Harry Kane
Coming in at second is Tottenham’s Harry Kane. The striker was just nine points shy of Erling Haaland’s total after another outstanding season. His 263 points consisted of a mammoth 30 goals and three assists.
3. Mohamed Salah
One of three midfielders to make the top five scoring players in 22/23 was Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian collected 239 points. Amongst his points was 19 goals and 12 assists. His biggest haul of the season came in a 7-0 win against Manchester United where he scored two goals and produced two assists.
4. Martin Ødegaard
Sitting as the fourth highest scoring player in FPL this season was Arsenal midfielder Martin Ødegaard. The Norwegian helped spearhead his side to a second place finish in the league. Ødegaard bagged 15 goals and seven assists which helped him reach 212 points.
5. Marcus Rashford
Completing the top five highest scoring players this season is Marcus Rashford. The Manchester United star amassed 205 points in FPL. His points consisted of 17 goals and four assists. Rashford’s biggest points return came against Arsenal where he scored two goals and registered one assist totalling 18 points.
The rest of the top 10
6. Bukayo Saka – The Arsenal winger accumulated 202 points. Saka scored 14 goals and picked up 11 assists to help him reach his total.
7. Gabriel Martinelli – The Brazilian became one of best value assets in the game this season. The midfielder banked 198 points for his efforts.
8. Kieran Trippier – Newcastle had a fantastic campaign. Helping his side reach a top four league position and bagging 198 points was Kieran Trippier. He also became the highest scoring defender of the campaign.
9. Kevin De Bruyne – Contributing to the Champions title winning season was De Bruyne. The Belgian collected 183 points.
10. Ivan Toney – Brentford came close to qualifying for European football. The biggest contributor to their season was Ivan Toney. The striker amassed 182 points in FPL.
