Gameweek 35 best wildcard

Last modified date

Looking at the Gameweek 35 best wildcard team. Using the Fantasy Football Scout season ticker we can see which teams have the best run of fixtures. This can then aid FPL managers in picking out some of the best assets for the run ahead.

The wildcard gives managers the opportunity to change their entire team for any reason. Managers activate their wildcards for several reasons. Whether that be to target fixture swings or just change their team up, the wildcard can be precious to our planning.

Fixture ticker

We can see from the ticker below, the teams at the top have the easiest fixtures, whilst the teams at the bottom have the toughest fixtures up to the end of the season.

Who has the best fixtures?

Brighton, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool all rank amongst the top five teams with the best fixtures.

Who has the worst fixtures?

Brentford, Leeds, Aston Villa, Leicester and Everton all rank amongst the bottom five teams with the worst fixtures.

Team balance

It is important to find team balance to try to navigate double Gameweek 36 and double Gameweek 37. Making sure we have key players from key teams with double Gameweeks will be vital to tackle the upcoming period.

The best wildcard team

Goalkeepers

Not only have Brighton been sustaining some great defensive stats this season but they also have a mouth watering two double Gameweeks ahead. Because of this, his enabling price-tag and that he seems to have nailed down his first team position, Jason Steele (£4m) could be a fantastic option between the sticks.

Backing Steele up is Leicester’s Daniel Iverson (£3.8m). He also helps to enable fund elsewhere within the side.

Defenders

Manchester City may be struggling to keep clean sheets at the moment but all of the indicators are there to suggest they have good potential to keep some moving forward. In fact, when compared to every other team this season they rank second best for clean sheets kept (30), the best for shots in the box conceded (154) and the best for big chances conceded (40). With that in mind, his reliability in terms of minutes and his goal threat from set pieces, John Stones (£5.5m) could be a great selection.

Newcastle may face Arsenal next but after that they have a double Gameweek. Defensively, Newcastle are up there with some of the best sides in the division. One player who should not be excluded is Kieran Trippier (£6.1m). This season amongst all defenders the full-back ranks first for crosses (339), first for chances created (97) and second for big chances created (22).

Another player with elite distribution stats is Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.6m). The right-back has produced an incredible six assists in his last five matches, highlighting his huge potential going into any given game.

Manchester United and Chelsea both have two budget enabling defenders who looked assured for minutes. Both also have a double Gameweek ahead. Taking all of that into account Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£4.3m) and Chelsea’s Wesley Fofana (£4.3m) both make the cut.

Midfielders

Brighton sit first on the fixture ticker with two double Gameweeks ahead. They have maintained some fantastic offensive stats this season. More recently, in the last six Gameweeks they rank first for attempts on goal (131), second best for shots in the box (84), joint second best for big chances total (25) and first for shots on target (49). Because of this both Solly March (£5.3m) and Kaoru Mitoma (£5.6m) should be considered.

Not only have Manchester City maintained some of the best attacking data in the league this season but they also play some of the worst defences in their next games whilst also having a double Gameweek scheduled. One of the most reliable ways into the frontline, other than the obvious is Jack Grealish (£7.3m). The winger has collected three returns in his last five matches.

Liverpool also have some great fixtures ahead. Their best and most reliable option is Mohamed Salah (£13m). In the last six Gameweeks amongst all players the Egyptian ranks first for attempts on goal (24), first for shots in the box (23) and joint second for big chances total (seven). Salah also takes his sides penalties giving him another route to points.

Manchester United face a West Ham side who have conceded four or more goals in three of their last 10 games. This shows they have the potential to capitulate against efficient frontlines. The Reds also have a double Gameweek ahead. Because of this star man Marcus Rashford (£7.2m) has to be considered. The winger has collected a return in all four of his last starts, picking up two double-digit hauls in the process.

Forwards

A large contributing factor to Manchester City’s relentless form is Erling Haaland (£12.4m). No player in the league has scored more goals (34), had more shots in the box (100) or produced more big chances (51). The Norwegian is also the standout captaincy option until the end of the season.

Newcastle are in serious scoring form as of late. This can be reflected in the fact that when compared to all teams in the last six games they rank first for goals (22), second for attempts on goal (117), first for shots in the box (87) and first for big chances total (26). Not just this but they also have a double Gameweek ahead. The standout player in the frontline is Callum Wilson (£7m). Not only does he take his sides penalties when on the pitch but in the last six games he has managed a huge three double-digit hauls, reflecting his explosiveness in FPL.

Bournemouth’s form has been improving just when it matters. The Cherries have managed four wins in their last six games. One player who has spearheaded improvement in form is Dominic Solanke (£5.6m). The budget striker has banked three returns in his last six games including a double-digit return. In the same period, when compared to all players in the division, he also ranks second best for attempts on goal (23) and second best for shots in the box (22).
