Double Gameweek 36 announcement

Last modified date

The Premier League have today announced the rescheduling of one of the remaining postponed fixtures. The Double Gameweek 36 announcement comes as part of the broadcaster announcement. We take a look at what this means in FPL.

Newcastle v Brighton was previously postponed earlier on in the season. The fixture has now been rescheduled for Thursday 18th of May. This means that the fixture falls in to Gameweek 36.

Brighton will now have two fixtures in Double Gameweek 36. The Seagull’s will face Arsenal and Newcastle in two away fixtures for their two matches.

Newcastle also have two fixtures. They will travel away to Leeds before hosting Brighton in their second match.

What does this mean in FPL?

Many managers are already heavily invested in Brighton. They have recently had a Double Gameweek in Gameweek 29 and have another scheduled for Gameweek 34. Brighton also have a further fixture still to be reschuled against Man City. With a double gameweek in Gameweek 34 and 36 as well as another to come before the end of the season managers should look to triple up on the Seagull’s. Click here to read who we thought were the best picks from Brighton for Gameweek 29.

Newcastle do not double in Gameweek 34 and therefore managers could look to target them after that double. Kieran Trippier is owned by 67.6% of FPL managers. Alongside him only Nick Pope, 21% owned and Miguel Almiron, 12.6% owned, are owned by over 10% of managers. Therefore investing more in Newcastle ahead of the double could be a wise strategy for FPL managers.

Which further fixtures are left to be rescheduled?

There are two more fixtures which still have not been rescheduled.

  • Brighton v Man City
  • Man United v Chelsea

Hopefully this Double Gameweek 36 announcement will be quickly followed by an announcement on these two fixtures.
