FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 31

Last modified date

We take a look at some of the FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 31. With the new round approaching, we check out what some of the most elite managers have been talking about in the build up to the latest round of Fantasy Premier League.

Looking at what some of the FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 31 are talking about could be highly beneficial to other managers. Whether they discuss expected minutes, potential transfer targets, chip strategy or other key factors, it can all help to provide clarity within our own teams.

@LetsTalk_FPL

Fantasy Football content creator Andy highlighted one of the biggest decisions not given this week. The in-form Brighton came into the game as favourites and performed like it too. However, due to a questionable decision by the referee Tottenham took all three points.

One Brighton player who came away with a return was midfielder Solly March (£5.2m) who picked up seven points due to an assist and bonus. Brighton face Chelsea, a blank Gameweek immediately after and some fantastic fixtures after that including a double Gameweek. For that reason, Holding onto our Brighton midfielders could be absolutely vital.

@FplMode

Fantasy Football Scout contributor and content creator Andy picked up on a major event in Gameweek 30. Many within the community either sold or benched Brentford striker Ivan Toney (£7.9m). It was an eventful week for the striker.

Ivan Toney missed a penalty but then went onto score another one. He managed to collect four points this week. The Brentford man could have plenty more opportunities ahead with games against Wolves, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest and Liverpool in the next five. Some managers may even regret their decision to move him on.

@GianniButtice

Fantasy Football Scout contributor and general Fantasy Football content creator Gianni Buttice emphasised the performance of Leicester’s James Maddison (£8.3m) over the last couple of Gameweeks. The midfielder became a popular transfer in recently.

Maddison played against Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Bournemouth in his last three games. Although many had hoped for returns he blanked in all three games. He faces Manchester City next but then has some great fixtures after that. Because of this owners will have to make the tough call on whether to sell him or stay faithful.

@FPLFamily (Lee)

Fantasy Football content creator and experienced FPL manager Lee shared the pain of many managers in Gameweek 30. Since Chelsea reverted to their wing-back system Ben Chilwell (£6m) became hot property amongst fantasy managers.

However, new manager Frank Lampard not only played a back four but failed to start Chilwell. Although he featured late on the defender also picked up a yellow card meaning he frustratingly ended the round with zero points. With Champions League football ahead, owners could well be deliberating if he is worth holding onto long term.

@SebWassell

Fantasy Football Scout contributor and experienced FPL manager Seb indicated an interesting move this week. It was a hopeful week for Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford (£7.3m). Although he created an assist it should have been much more.

Rashford’s disappointed owners and captainers were dealt even more bad news during the game. He limped off in what many suggest is a groin injury. With Nottingham Forest next and a blank Gameweek after that, many could be looking at Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish (£6.9m) as a short term replacement.
