Should we buy Liverpool players?

Last modified date

We take a look at one of the most asked questions within the FPL community, should we buy Liverpool players? With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout members area, we can utilise its fixture ticker and underlying stats to come to a conclusion.

As we approach the latter stages of the season managers will have to try to navigate blanks and double Gameweeks whilst also trying to gain an edge over their competitors. Some will be deliberating how they can differentiate. One way to do that could be to target Liverpool assets. So, should we buy Liverpool players in FPL?

Fixtures

Below is the Fantasy Football Scout fixture ticker. This ranks the teams at the top with the best fixtures to the teams at the bottom with the worst fixtures. As we can see Liverpool rank first on the ticker from now until the end of the season.

We can also see that Liverpool play in blank Gameweek 32 and have a double Gameweek in 34. This could be an early indicator that Liverpool could be a good team to invest in from now until the end of the season.

The Liverpool attack

This season when compared to every other team in the league Liverpool rank fourth for goals scored (47), third for attempts on goal (424), second for shots in the box (307), second for big chances total (85) and second for shots on target (149).

This suggests that the Liverpool attack are maintaining some fantastic offensive numbers. This also reinforces the fact that their attacking assets could be of interest.

The Liverpool defence

This season amongst all teams in the league Liverpool rank fifth best for goals conceded (29), joint third best for clean sheets (10) and fifth best for shots in the box conceded (191). Although impressive, Liverpool also rank joint second worst for big chances conceded (75).

Although inconsistent this season, Liverpool are still maintaining some solid defensive stats. Whilst they have also conceded a lot of big chances, we can see that they still remain amongst the best defences in the league for clean sheets.

Should we buy Liverpool players?

Yes. Liverpool’s fixtures are arguably better than any other team in the league from now until the end of the season. The Reds are also sustaining some great offensive and defensive stats as well. Many will be more interested in their attacking assets but their defensive assets should also be considered.
